Honestly I think this is my favourite beauty post yet – I just loved every part from the products to the photos!
This little haul sprung from having to be a last minute Christmas shopper this year (well, last year, but y’know). I’m normally so well prepared when it comes to buying presents, but after one company let me down and didn’t dispatch my order for two weeks – meaning on Christmas Eve it was still yet to appear – I had to go into town on the hunt of replacement gifts. I ended up in Boots, and as I scoured the NYX display for potential presents, my eye was drawn to this mutlicoloured palette of dreams..
I’ve been lusting over the Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette for a little while, but as I don’t tend to go bright all the time, I couldn’t really justify the Β£40+ price tag, and this seemed like the perfect substitute for just Β£16. It was the last one on the shelf, and I couldn’t walk away without it..
If I had one wish, it would be that the shadows were a little more pigmented. They look so gorgeously bright in their pans, so I felt like they should have been brighter on application, rather than needing a few layers to build up. They’re a perfect creamy consistency though – not too crumbly – and the mix of mattes with a few shimmery shades gives some variety too!
My other purchase was the Sleek Colour Corrector Palette – I’m a total novice to colour correcting, so I figured this compact little kit for Β£7.99 was a good starter!
Finally, I know I have plenty of Spectrum brushes already, but how beautiful is the Fresh FACE set? This was actually a Christmas present, and although I already have all these brushes in their classic pink/blue style, they are my four most used brushes, and these are actually shorter in length, making them perfectly travel-sized! They also come in a matching case, which is great because I’ve been wanting a smaller makeup bag for a while now.
I can’t wait to have more of a play with these pieces and add some more colour to my face!
Rainbow! π¦ These are great products, awesome post girl! π
I love how bright they all are, but can see what you mean by them not being too pigmented! I don’t know where I’d wear such bright colours!! π Tania Michele xx
I think as much as I wish they were brighter, the fact that they’re not makes it easier to wear them more often π
I was literally just looking at the Urban Decay palette as a gift for a friend, so I think you might have just saved me some money!
I love taking colourful photos too, rainbow themed things are just the best. π

Ooh, the NYX palette looks so pretty, it’s such a shame they’re not as vibrant as they appear, but I guess they’re good for building up or if you’re looking for a subtle effect! + I need for get myself some of those spectrum brushes, they’re too cute!
Yeah I wish they were brighter, but I think it does make them better for everyday wear!
