My January Trip Disney Haul

I’m normally that person who leaves it FAR too long to unpack their suitcase after coming back from holiday, so I’m pretty shocked by myself that I am unpacked with the washing done within only a few days of arriving back. I mean sure, I partly did this so that I could do this haul post, but I usually just unpack the washing and my new buys and leave the rest for as long as I can get away with, so this is impressive for me.

This haul is a combination of buys from Walt Disney World, RunDisney merch and some purchases I made during our Disney Cruise on the Dream!

I felt like I didn’t go too overboard with shopping while in the parks, mainly due to the fact that the big expense of the trip was my Walt Disney World annual pass – Matthew and I are hoping to go back a couple of times this year and with our DVC discount it was much more cost effective to get APs than regular tickets! For this very reason I felt justified in buying a couple of magic bands, millennial pink and light turquoise, as well as choosing an orange AP magic band, just so I’ve got options, y’know.. It also meant that on our final day in the parks, which was the first day of Epcot’s Festival of Arts, we could pick up an annual pass holder magnet from Mouse Gear!

The other things I knew that I wanted was a DVC Alex and Ani bracelet, which Matthew bought for me, and the Its a Small World spirit jersey (because did you ever see anything so ME?!) and I also couldn’t resist buying the new Mickey celebration sipper cup!

The Small World spirit jersey was not the only spirit jersey purchase of the trip.. Well I had to round off my collection with the new RunDisney spirit jersey and the navy/rose gold Disney Cruise Line one, so I now have one of all the Disney spirit jerseys!

As well as the cruise spirit jersey, I also bought the Castaway Cay Challenge pin and this cute little cruise cupcake pin which was in a blind bag, and Matthew also bought me the DCL Alex and Ani!

I always try to be restrained at RunDisney expos, and in all fairness I do tend to be happy with the participant t-shirts that runners are given for taking part in the races, so I rarely buy any extra t-shirts at the expo, but as I’m going to shout about it for the rest of my life, I couldn’t not buy the ‘I did it’ t-shirt for the marathon, as well as the headband, and I also bought the mini medal replica pin!

The bottom two photos are the participant t-shirts for the 10K, marathon and Castaway Cay Challenge, and the ear hat was also given out at the end of the marathon which I was very happy about – I even got it embroidered! (or at least my friends did while I tried to recover from running..)

So mainly pins and spirit jerseys, but I’m pretty happy with all my buys, even if my credit card doesn’t exactly agree..

Things I Broke My Spending Ban For

After having a bit of fun in the January sales, I put myself on a rather strict spending ban a few weeks ago in an attempt to pay off what’s left of Christmas, January birthdays and stuff for my holiday in April. I mentioned in Wednesday’s post that it’s inevitable that whenever I go on a spending ban, I always end up spotting things that I want more than when I’m free to spend what I like, so of course in the last month there have been a few little exceptions to the ban.

Disney Store picked the most unfortunate time (for me) to release the first month of their limited edition Mickey Memories collection, and it was just my luck that January’s release was the one I wanted to get my hands on the most. I thought maybe I could wait to buy this adorable little Steamboat Willie Mickey, but FOMO got the better of me and I was there on the website at 7:55am waiting for the launch to drop online, and I’m so glad I did because I know a lot of people who missed out on this limited edition cutie, and I’ve already seen some going on eBay for £50-60, when he was only £25. What I am happy about, however, is that I paid for him using some of my Etsy earnings from January, so my bank account didn’t actually see the effects of this spend at all!

My friend Rachel makes the sweetest fandom inspired coffee cozies, and having bought my first one back in December and loved it, I was keen for more. Then she brought out a Porg cozy and I was absolutely sold, plus I bought it when she was running a buy one, get a surprise one free offer, so I also got another design that is also been eyeing up, this little Mickey glove. I love supporting small businesses, so this was well worth breaking the ban. You can buy her darling creations here!

I actually popped into Clintons looking for the next item, not knowing it hadn’t actually been released in stores yet, but while I was nosing around the store I found this amazing vintage Disney poster patterned notebook and I couldn’t not get it.. But the bonus was when I got to the checkout, it actually scanned up cheaper than the label – winner!

Last, but certainly not least, I have been waiting to get this amazing Winnie the Pooh dish for months. Clintons dropped spoilers for this collection back in November and I’ve patiently waited since then to buy it, but as soon as it released on the website it sold out, and I just knew how unlikely it was that my local stores would stock it. Luckily, the lovely Clintons Twitter team were nice enough to notify me when it came back in stock online, and I snapped it up within minutes! This was also paid for with Etsy earnings, so another little victory!

Worth breaking the ban? I think so..

My November Disney Trip Haul

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the only good thing about unpacking after a holiday is being able to get out all the cool things you bought during your trip. I can leave my clothes in my case for days but I’ll always be digging out souvenirs as soon as I step in the door.

To be honest, it felt like I bought a lot more on this trip than I actually did, mainly due to the fact that I actually bought quite a bit for other people, and also because I splurged on a lot of non-Disney purchases, so while my credit card took a bit of a hit, I’ve not got much to show you today, but what I did buy, I love.

I have been waiting for Disney to release a proper Mrs Potts teapot for FOREVER. I know Primark released a knock-off money box and various other products, but I’ve really disliked all of the ‘dupes’ that have been going round, so when I walked into Village Gifts in Fantasyland and saw this beauty on display I knew I’d be coming home with her! My only gripe is that the Chip that comes with her is a lot smaller than the Chip teacups, and probably too small to be used as an actual teacup, but I’ve decided that he will be the little sugar bowl for my now complete tea set! She’s also fully dishwasher safe!

How adorable is this little Mickey? I’m a sucker for Alex and Ani, but I especially love this bracelet because its a bit different with a sliding charm rather than a dangling one, which makes it a bit more practical for wearing day to day, whereas my other ones can be a bit too jangly! PS. They also had a Minnie one, and both are available in gold as well as silver.

Much like a trip to Lush, I love a trip to Basin in Disney Springs. I love looking at the different soap designs, but I especially love snagging a bargain with their variety bags. These bags contain off-cuts of 3-4 different soaps, but whereas you’d pay $5-8 dollars (weight dependent) on a single slice of one soap, these bags vary from $3-4 and you probably get a little bit more soap out of it, as well as getting to try a few different ones!

My final purchases were also from Disney Springs, but this time Uniqlo. First of all, I’d highly recommend hitting Uniqlo if you’re after Disney t-shirts – they have so many designs which are all really cute, and they’re a fraction of the price of the shirts you’ll see in the parks – but what I actually bought was trousers! They had a whole wall of these sweet 3/4 length culotte-style pants in various prints but all featuring little Mickey heads in the design. I chose two different pairs, the first being the all-over Mickey print, and then I also picked up a more subtle striped print that has tiny little hidden Mickey’s dotted randomly over it. They’re so comfy, and they have pockets!

My other US purchases were primarily makeup, and if you’re interested in seeing what I got keep an eye out as there’ll be lots of review posts coming up soon!

My February WDW Haul!

Well I couldn’t come back from Walt Disney World without a few goodies for myself, could I?

I actually surprised myself with how little I bought in the way of Disney merch on this trip, instead spending most of my money in Sephora (haul coming tomorrow!), but I did buy some real gems, and here they are:

As well as the yellow teacup ride mug, I have been obsessed with this princess mug ever since I saw Amy post a photo of it a little while back – its just so pretty and I love that it features all the kingdoms and castles of my favourite Disney princesses!

Don’t judge me, but I do have this thing with Its a Small World, and also the various Disney park trash cans, and I love that there’s a sort of irony to this hand sanitiser being in the shape of a bin! It was an impulse purchase really, but it now goes with me everywhere haha!

I said in my shopping list post that I was going to be on the hunt for some park exclusive tsum tsums, and they were on offer at 4 for $16 so I picked up these cuties – a teacup, carousel horse, Its a Small World boy and the orange bird, and I love them all so much! There were actually quite a lot of park exclusives around, but not all of them appealed to me so I stuck to these for now.

As a bit of a tradition, I always pick up a headband from my RunDisney races, so I bought one for each at the RunDisney Health and Fitness Expo.

My final and favourite purchase isn’t strictly WDW merchandise, but if you’ve ever wandered past Curl at Disney Springs, you may have seen the talented artists who hand-paint shoes outside the store, and this absolutely BEAUTIFUL pair of Tangled inspired Toms caught my eye. It must have been fate, because they were my size, and the artist told me she’d just put them out that morning and they normally sell super fast. Well I just wouldn’t have been forgive myself if I’d missed out on them, they’re just so unique and special, and the ‘Go live your dreams’ on the side is the icing on the cake – hello summer shoes!

One hand sanitiser, two mugs, three headbands and four tsum tsums and the prettiest pair of shoes – I’m a happy girl!

My WDW Trip Shopping List

wdw-shopping-list

Considering its only 10 days til I leave for WDW, I feel super unprepared compared to previous trip! What’s even more surprising is that when I started to think about what to include on this list, I actually really struggled!

I know that as soon as I step foot into the first shop, I’ll see a million different things that I want, but there are a few things that I’m going in with the intention of buying..

  • Anatasia Beverly Hills glow kits – not technically Disney, but now there’s a Sephora in Disney Springs, its the perfect opportunity for me to look at getting the two kits that literally turn me into the heart-eyes emoji. I’m a total ABH virgin, but I’m saving my first purchases for a slightly better exchange rate!
  • RunDisney 2017 Vinylmation – I haven’t seen any photos released yet, but usually there’s a new Vinylmation released with each year of races, and its like a combination of my two favourite things: RunDisney and Vinylmations.
  • Teacup mug – I’m not sure if these are still available in the parks, but I LOVE these teacup replica mugs! If I could, I’d get a whole set of them, but I know getting them home would be a nightmare..
  • Happily Ever After princess mug – my mug obsession continues.. I fell in love with this mug the second I saw Amy post a photo of hers and now I need to get one, ha!
  • Park exclusive tsum tsums – whenever I see park exclusive tsum releases, I’m always gutted that I live in the UK and the US Disney Store doesn’t ship to us, so if I see any of these cuties around, I’m gonna be all over them like a rash!

I just hope I can fit everything in my suitcase!

Recent Disney Purchases

So I thought I’d do a little haul post today to share some of the Disney goodies I’ve picked up over the past few months, yay!

Poprageous and Forever 21 Disney

First up, the Disney clothes! I’ve been eyeing up the Forever 21 Pixar collection for a little while, and having never purchased anything from them before I decided to take a chance on this cute Toy Story crop top. There are matching shorts available that I might have to get as well! The skirt is from Poprageous and I absolutely fell in love with the splattered Mickey print – its a perfectly subtle!

Cakeworthy flannel

Adorkable Apparel pixie crop top

Next up, my lovely friend Lizi put a request out on Twitter for people who would be interested in doing a joint order from Cakeworthy, and as I’d been looking at buying one of their flannel shirts, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to save on shipping and customs! I ummed and ahhed over which design, but something kept telling me that I needed this nod to Sleeping Beauty – my favourite princess as a kid – and its even nicer in person than it looked on the website!

As we’d set up a little group message for everyone doing the order, another of my Disney friends Sammy had asked if anyone wanted in on her Adorkable Apparel order, so I got the Rose Pixie crop top, although I’m a little gutted I didn’t go for the Frost fairy one as its sold out now! BUT they are releasing more pixie designs soon and I’m really excited for Fawn’s!

Redbubble a-line dress

Even though this isn’t a great photo, I am so excited about this dress! Its a new product available from Redbubble, and the Its A Small World design goes so perfectly with a pair of ears I bought earlier in the year! I’m going to be wearing it in Disneyland Paris when I’m there this weekend and doing a little photoshoot in front of the ride which hopefully is going to look great!

Disney tsum tsum and patches

Finally, a few little bits and pieces! I picked up the Tsum Tsum water bottle and Donald, which is a phone holder, from a toy shop in Kuala Lumpur airport on my layover to New Zealand; the bottle has a combination of some of my absolute faves, including Tangled, Big Hero 6 and Toy Story! The Mickey and Minnie tsums came from a seller on Depop – I’m actually not 100% sure if they’re authentic, but they are so damn cute I don’t really care!

Last but not least, I fell for the recent craze of patches and bought all these from Depop. I’m not really into denim jackets, so I think I might customise some of my shorts in preparation for next year’s Disney trips!

Have you bought anything good recently?

Hong Kong Disneyland Haul!

Yay another Disney haul!

I really loved Hong Kong Disneyland – a lot more than I expected I would – and I think I picked up some pretty great goodies..

Hong Kong Disneyland merchandise

I love a shopping bag, and this 10th anniversary one is huge! I obviously had to get a park mug, and although I think its a little ugly, it had to be the anniversary one too, and I snuck in a Baymax mug because he’s so cute! There’s also a set of 10th anniversary chopsticks and a Slinky Dog pen, and in the top left is a tsum tsum towel that was on promotion at only £10! I’m not a lanyard wearer really, but this reversible Mickey one caught my eye, and I can use it for my DLP annual pass.

Hong Kong Disneyland lanyard

Hong Kong Disneyland tsum tsum t-shirt

Hong Kong Disneyland t-shirts

So I bought the Finding Nemo tsum tsum t-shirt because I didn’t really like any of the other t-shirts in the store; it was a little pricey, but I figured I wouldn’t be able to get it elsewhere and didn’t want to regret missing out. And then I went into a different store.. We stumbled across a table of sale items, where if you bought 2 items they would both be 50% off, or 4 items or more would be 70% off – who can argue with that logic? I loved all three of these shirts, and my mum and sister also picked one each, so each top worked out at about £5! The middle one is actually a men’s shirt, but I love that the design includes all the lands in the park, and its so comfy, but I think my favourite has to be the Toy Story pea pod top; I fell in love!

Keep an eye out on my Instagram for a Hong Kong Disneyland giveaway coming soon!

Shanghai Disneyland Haul!

The only good thing about coming home from a Disney trip is unpacking all the goodies I picked up from the parks, and having visited two Disney parks, it meant double the fun!

Shanghai Disneyland merchandise

As well as going to Disneyland itself, we also visited the Disney Store in Shanghai city centre, so I picked up a few bits from there before I even stepped foot into the park. They had three for two on tsum tsums, so I picked up Destiny and Donald, as well as an Iron Man for the boyfriend, but I also couldn’t resist this limited edition set – to commemorate the first anniversary of the store!

Shanghai Disney Store limited edition tsum tsums

I also picked up a Donald Duck scrunchie from the Disney Store sale, which opened the floodgates to buying more cute hair accessories from the park, and of course I had to get a set of Grand Opening ears!

Shanghai Disney hair accessories

Shanghai Disneyland Grand Opening ears

Shanghai Disneyland Alex and Ani bracelet

My sister bought me the Alex and Ani bracelet as an early birthday present; I looked at the special grand opening design, but up close it actually looked a little tacky, so I decided to get the classic castle design.

Shanghai Disneyland merchandise

Shanghai Disneyland t-shirt

Shanghai Disneyland Vinylmation

If you didn’t already know, I have a slight weakness for Vinylmations.. The grand opening Vinylmation all came with Mickey, and then the unknown design inside, so I was chuffed to get Minnie because they make a perfect pairing. I also got the Gardens of Imagination Year of the Dog one – its Pluto! As well as these bits, I got the t-shirt, an adorable mug and shopping bag, yay!

I can’t wait to start posting more about Shanghai!

My Disney Trip Shopping List

No big deal or anything, but this time next week I’LL BE IN DISNEY WORLD!!!!!

I am 100% too excited to think about anything other than Disney at this stage, and we all know how much I love planning right(?) so I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m gonna blow my spending money, and today I’m going to share some of the pieces I’m hoping to pick up on my trip!

Cogsworth clock and Chip mug

When we were in Disney World back in 2014, I was desperate for one of the newly released Chip mugs, but they were sold out everywhere waa! Now they’re not as new and Disney have picked up production, hopefully I won’t have any problems picking one up! The problem might be with Cogsworth, who was only released a few months ago, but I’m determined to bring him home with me to go with Lumiere, who I bought in Disneyland Paris.

I have a few Alex and Ani bracelets already, all bought on eBay; I have a Rapunzel one, as well as 3 of the 4 WDW park ones, so I need Epcot to complete my collection, and I might see if I can pick up the Disneyland ones in California too!

Disney parks are the only places where I actually like Starbucks, and I’ve been kinda lusting over the park ‘you are here’ mugs, but at $15 a pop, I may rethink that once I get there!

Back in 2014 I bought the Thomas Kinkade Tangled box canvas; it was beautiful and although a little pricey, but it meant something for me to be able to buy it. I’d love to get another one, but I don’t know how I could choose!

I’m also going to be keeping some money aside for the RunDisney Fitness Expos. They partner with New Balance to release limited edition trainers for the events, as well as having a bunch of exhibitors selling cool stuff, so its an excuse for me to do some more shopping!

And honestly, I think that’s it for me! Well, in terms of planned purchases anyway, no one with a credit card can resist Disney merch really!

Do you plan what you want to buy on your Disney trips?

My Disneyland Paris Haul

Oh goody, goodies!

SONY DSC

What is a Disney trip with a fabulous haul of park merch? For me, souvenir shopping is one of my favourite parts of any trip, and being the over-preparer that I am, I always plan ahead; making sure I have room in my case to bring stuff home, and also doing a little bit of research on what I might want to look out for!

I was fairly restrained on this trip, mainly due to a tight-ish budget, but I knew I wanted to commemorate the visit with some special goodies, so here they are!

SONY DSC

First up, two things I didn’t actually pay for! When we checked into the hotel for our stay, and the CM found out it was my birthday, he wrote out a ‘Touch of Magic’ voucher so both me and my sister could choose a pin each, it was so sweet! I’m not a pin collector like many Disney fans, but these two caught my eye, and Hannah wasn’t fussed so she let me have them both!

SONY DSC

While I might not be a pin collector, I do have a big Vinylmation collection, so seeing a new collection in the parks always gets me excited! The Peter Pan collection looked fab – there wasn’t a single one I didn’t like – and I got this little cutie: Michael!

SONY DSC

I’d been eyeing up this candle holder on the Disney Store website, and being in the Halloween shop in the parks seemed like the perfect time to buy it!

SONY DSC

Ok, so this is another thing I didn’t buy, it was actually a surprise extra birthday present from Mum and Dad, but they were for sale in the Lego Store in Disney Village, and I love him!

SONY DSC

Isn’t this mini carousel sweet? It’s a little musical piece, which plays the Its a Small World song as it turns, and I couldn’t resist it.

SONY DSC

Last but not least is Lumiere! I saw these in WDW last year and resisted, but now they’re available in DLP, it seemed almost too perfect to buy him in Paris.

Tokyo Disney Haul

For me, the only thing that was going to be more exciting than my Tokyo trip, was all the wonderful goodies I knew I would find in Japan. I packed the bare minimum (which by my standards is still probably more than anyone else) so I could fill my case to bursting with amazing ‘stuff’ to bring home, and I think I did a pretty good job..

SONY DSC

This isn’t even all of it! BUT a fair few of these goodies are for giveaways, so its not all mine, but I’m going to share what I did buy just for me!

SONY DSC

Nanoblocks have a small following here in the UK, but they were everywhere in Tokyo Disneyland; every character you could imagine in teeny tiny Lego-like building blocks. I was going to resist, but when I saw the castle I couldn’t help myself, and because the Tokyo Monorail was just so darn cute, I ended up getting that one too, and I’m really excited to give building them a go!

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

Next, the wearable goodies! The Japanese really go all out when they dress for Disney, and the range was endless! From the parks, I got myself a pair of sparkly Minnie ears, a Minnie scrunchie, the amazing LGM ears, monorail socks, and Winnie the Pooh clip-on ears. A lot of people in the parks choose to wear clip-on ears, and they came in a pretty impressive range from Minnie to Pooh to Stitch. I picked up some Tsum Tsum hairbands from the Disney Store just outside the parks, and the Tsum Tsum socks came from some crazy shops we found in a Tokyo shopping centre.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

As we all know I’m a total homeware nut, and I honestly expected more of it in the parks but the range didn’t span much more than mugs and chopsticks in most places, but I did manage to get some cute lunchboxes, a large rice bowl and a plastic cup, as well as a Tokyo Disney mug and a Tokyo Disneyland hotel mug to add to my collection, as well as some Winnie the Pooh nail clippers – random, I know – and The Queen of Hearts plate came with one of our desserts in the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall. From another store in Tokyo I also got some cool Pooh and Mickey sushi mould sets, as well as my favourite buy of the holiday: a Toy Story Little Green Men tea set! I had really hoped to get a tea set while in Japan, and this little guy stole my heart. As you can see in the top picture, the cups all stack up into a tower, and the head lifts off the teapot to act as another cup/sugar bowl, while the body is the pot; I’m in love!

SONY DSC

I also picked up a few crafty bits from various stores around Japan: a Minnie Mouse tape measure, some Disney washi tape, sew on Tsum Tsum appliques and a tin of little paper tsum tsum cards!

As well as all these wonderful goodies, there is one more beautiful buy, which I’ve snuck a picture of as its going to be my birthday present, so I can’t have it until October (waa!), but I have to share..

SONY DSC

We came across a Samantha Thavasa store in a shopping centre and I just wanted to have a quick look until I found this beautiful Dumbo purse – the picture doesn’t do justice to just how gorgeous it is!

I’m a pretty happy girly!

Fathers Day Gift Ideas for Disney Dads

I’m really lucky that my dad is fairly easy to shop for, but in case you need a little bit of help, here’s my comprehensive guide to buying for Disney dads!

The Arty Dad

art dad

Whether its for his man-cave, office or anywhere else in the house, get him something he can appreciate every day! I love the range of Star Wars Retro Travel posters from Teacup Pirahna on Etsy; you can pick one, or buy a selection set, but starting from just £4.50 they’re great value for money! B&Q has a great range of artwork and canvases with Marvel themes, like this Marvel comic montage for just £12. Then, of course, there’s Disney Store, which has a great selection like Lightning McQueen for £15, Jiminy Crickett for £20 and World of Disney Up print for £70.

The Fashion Dad

fas dad

This is my go-to; I get my dad a t-shirt pretty much every year! And I usually count on Redbubble because there is such a huge range of designs and styles, as well as the option to choose colours etc. I especially love cross-over designs, like this Mickey Mouse/Breaking Bad Walter White shirt! If you’re looking to splurge, this Luke Skywalker watch from Disney Store is perfect for the geeky dad, or if the shoe fits, there’s this Grumpy t-shirt! Let Dad unleash his inner big kid with the Buzz Lightyear wallet from Hot Topic, or the more subtle Mickey messenger bag from Truffle Shuffle!

The Techie Dad

tec dad

Computer savvy dads will love the new range of USB memory sticks from Disney store, like this Boba Fett one, or add a bit of Vader to his iPhone with this 3D case! For gamer dads, there’s the Marvel Disney Infinity Starter Pack, available for Playstations and Xbox, or for the music lover there’s a great range of Disney inspired headphones on eBay.

The Collector Dad

collector dad

Every dad has something, right? Vinyl Pop is sweeping the world, and with Disney, Marvel and Star Wars collections, there’s something for everyone! The Disney Store has a great range of pins for dads who love trading, and also this adorable messenger Mickey, and for Lego-lovers, there’s a load of Marvel sets out there!

The Foodie Dad

food dad

Chef dads or just dads who love to eat? Covered! Get fully kitchen prepped with this Mickey Mouse apron, Lightsaber barbecue tongs or Disneyland utensil sets, or just sit back with a cuppa in an Iron Man mug and a regal boiled egg in this Arthur egg cup, or for wine-loving dads, how about this bottle stopper?

With Father’s Day creeping up, you better get shopping!

Dreaming of Mickey Ears

You guys, I am so excited for all my upcoming Disney trips. I say all because between now and the end of January, I’ll have visited not one, not even two or three, but FOUR different Disney parks!

If you keep fairly up to date with my plans and adventures, you’re doing the math at the moment and coming up one park short, because I’ve only talked about Japan (which is 60 days away!) and my RunDisney tour of both Disney World Florida and Disneyland California, but here’s the thing.. I’ll be turning 21 in October, and I’ll be doing that crucial bit of ageing in Disneyland Paris!

Nothing has been booked just yet, but I’m super buzzed to announce that I’ll be in Disneyland Paris from Friday 2nd October til Sunday 4th, with my birthday being the Saturday. The visit will actually be part of a whole European road trip I’ll be venturing out on, and I’ll obviously blog through the whole planning of the trip, but today I want to talk Mickey ears.

With all these majorly exciting visits to various Disney lands and worlds, I need to make sure I’m fully stocked up on these essential accessories, so I’ve spent the afternoon scrolling through my favourite shopping site, Etsy, to pick out some handmade beauties that I’d love to add to my collection.

As with all wishlists, just click on the photos, and you’ll be linked straight to the item, which will open in a new tab so you can keep reading!

Disney Dumbo Mickey Ears

These Dumbo sweeties are just one of a whole shop of incredible designs from CraftyOliviaCuties – I’d have them all if I could!

Up Inspired Mouse Ears

LeEars714 caught my attention with these colourful cuties from one of my favourite Pixar films!

Pastel Flower Crown MouseEars

Earresistible Ears makes the most beautiful floral crown ears, and you can even create your own custom ones, which I’d totally love to do, but from the looks of it they don’t ship to the UK 😦 so gorgeous though!

Baymax ears!

Adorable Baymax ears from EarsbyEvalenn are among a great range of designs!

Oh, Bother Floral Ears

Floral and lacy and Pooh = adorable ears from Shoplavenderb!

And who doesn’t love a combination of pom-poms and ombre tones?! I adore these from MouseCaEars!

All so perfect right?!

Disney Art Wishlist

There is so much beautiful Disney artwork out there. My collection started when I fell in love with Thomas Kinkade paintings in Epcot last summer, and I ended up bringing home a canvas box print of his Tangled piece. Since then I added to it with a Finding Nemo World of Disney print from the Disney Store, which I got for Christmas.

So today I’m sharing a few more beauties that I’d love to have in my future home!

Honey Lemon Disney Watercolor Print, Big Hero 6 Watercolor Poster, Kids Decor, Girl Room Wall Art, Not Framed, Buy 2 Get 1 Free! [No. 46-1]

After watching Big Hero Six when it came out, I immediately fell in love with Honey Lemon as she is literally me in Disney character form; I’ve never really totally identified with a single princess, but a yellow loving chemistry nerd is me to a tee.

Free Delivery

These Art of Aurora lithographs from the Disney Store are really sweet. Sleeping Beauty was my favourite princess as a kid, so I’ve got a total soft spot for anything Aurora.

Free Delivery

Another from the World of Disney collection, this Up! print would go perfectly with my Finding Nemo one.

TachaDesigns on Redbubble has the best collection of watercolour silhouettes of Disney Parks. This is the California Disneyland print, but there is also Disneyland Paris, and all of the Disney World parks, and I’d love the full set!
Main Street U.S.A.,® Walt Disney World®

Another few Thomas Kinkade designs from the Disney Dreams collection.. The full images are actually rectangular, but my box canvas print from Epcot was square, and I’d love a few more of those to go with my Tangled one.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do tomorrow, but it seems to be turning into a wishlist week, so I’ll come up with something!

Disney Kitchen Wishlist

I love window shopping; its what I spend at least half of my time on the internet doing, and of all the window shopping I do, most of that is for my dream home of the future. I know that’s probably a little way off, but a girl can dream, right?

So today I’m featuring a few of my favourite goodies that add a bit of Disney magic to the kitchen!

kit

1. Mickey and Minnie Salt and Pepper Shakers from Disney Store

2. Mrs Potts hand painted teapot from Hannah’s Hut on Etsy

3. Finding Nemo Cookie Jar from Hot Topic

4. Azul Plate from Disney Store

5. Mickey Casserole Dish from Disney Store

6. Simba and Pumbaa Salt and Pepper Shakers from Hot Topic

7. Starbucks ‘you are here’ mugs exclusive to the relevant Disney Parks

For someone who doesn’t drink tea or coffee, I own a lot of mugs, pretty much all of which are Disney, so I’ve tried to avoid looking at mugs, but I’m totally in love with the Starbucks ‘you are here’ mugs. You can only get them in the park they represent, and there are six altogether as you can also get ones for the California Disneyland parks, so I’m hoping if they’re still available I’ll be able to pick up each one in January! I also dream of owning a proper Mrs Potts and Chip tea set, so when I stumbled across this beauty on Etsy, I had to add it to my favourites.

As well as great clothes, Hot Topic also has a great collection of Disney homeware. I struggle to choose favourites, but thought today I’d feature the Finding Nemo cookie jar and Lion King salt and pepper shakers.

The Disney Store obviously has a fab lot of kitchenware, and the newly released Azul Dining Collection has definitely tickled my fancy; there are dining plates, bowls, mugs etc, but they’re selling quick! I also love the casserole dish, there was a similar one in the Disney parks.

Tomorrow I’m going to do a little feature of my favourite Disney artwork 🙂

Beautifully Disney – Alice in Wonderland Mini Lipsticks

This week’s theme is the gloriously bizarre Lewis Carroll classic: Alice in Wonderland.

SONY DSC

On my last Disney World trip, I decided to treat the lipstick addict in me to one of the Beautifully Disney mini lipstick sets. After flicking through the various sets, I chose the Alice in Wonderland set based on the colours all being ones I know suit me.

The set was $24.95, which is about £16, so £4 per lipstick, and that didn’t seem totally unreasonable to me as I pay £5-10 for a full-size lipstick back home. And the really are quite mini..

SONY DSC

Next to one of my Barry M lipsticks, which are the smallest ones I own, it looks diddy. The packaging is very basic and plastic, but the box the set comes in is really sweet, I can’t bring myself to get rid of it!

So onto the colours! Please bear in mind I am not a beauty blogger, or even a regular makeup wearer, and other the the lipstick I’m not wearing any other makeup in the photos, and they aren’t edited so what you get is me and my honest opinions..

1. Curiouser..

SONY DSC

Curiouser is almost nude in colour, but is packed with glitter to give a little bit of sparkle.

SONY DSC

Its a little pinker than my lips, and the glitter really makes an impact so despite the nude-ish colour, I wouldn’t wear it on a day to day basis.

2. Dum de Dum

SONY DSC

Orange! I love orange lipstick, so this made me so excited.

SONY DSC

I was a little disappointed. You’d need to layer and layer it on in order to see more than a tinge of orange, which I imagine for those who aren’t quite so into orange lipstick would like as its very subtle, but for me I kinda wish it had had a little more to it.

3. Rosebud

SONY DSC

This is my absolute favourite, I wear it all the time. Its not quite so red as it appears in the picture above, but its a little darker than my lips, so gives a really nice hint of colour, while maintaining a very natural look.

SONY DSC

4. Mad As A..

SONY DSC

Stay with me now, its not as drastic as you may think. Yes it looks very dark, but I gave it a try, and I really do like it, although I wouldn’t wear it every day.

SONY DSC

You need a steady hand or a good lip liner, because the deep colour means any slight wobbles in your application is gonna show, but the beauty of that means you can also add to the shape of your lips or add more definition.

They’re not professional makeup by any means, and you do pay a slight premium for the Disney name, but they’re good little lipsticks. The size is perfect for popping in a pocket or small purse, but you might find yourself losing them in a big handbag.

°o°

So I’m a bit of a collector..

Disney girl (noun) – a special kind of female who’s life is controlled by a major love of all things Disney. Symptoms include spontaneously bursting into song, a need to bring Disney into all aspects of day to day life, and a serious hoarding problem for Disney collectibles.

SONY DSC

So this is the start of my collection of collections: models, figures and tsum tsums. I’ve had some of these for a few years now, but I’ve only really just got round to getting a proper unit that I can display them on.

SONY DSC

The top makes the perfect stacking space for my Tsum Tsums. I hate how they’re not available in the UK yet, but its been announced they’re coming soon (eek!), so until then I’ll have to stick to eBay. I have two medium sized Tsums and 13 minis, 8 of which are Halloween edition.

SONY DSC

Also on the top are my Wikkeez. This collection started off with my mum buying me a packet, and although at first I wasn’t entirely sold, I’m ashamed to say I now have 20 out of 51 available!

SONY DSC

So then comes the vinyl shelf: Vinylmations and Vinyl Pop figures. My Vinylmation collection began in 2010, although grew massively thanks to my 2014 Disney World trip. The collection includes one 9″ figure, a few Star Wars themed, some Mystery Bakery figures, one variant and one chaser: Mr Toad.

I’m relatively new to the Funko Pop scene. I decided I’d rather build up my collection one film at a time, but I’m not sure how well I’ll stick to that over time; I really want Wall-E and Baymax soon!

SONY DSC

Lego runs in my family, and I have an enormous collection, but only two sets of the recently introduced Disney Princess range: Rapunzel’s Tower and Merida’s Highland Games.

SONY DSC

I know its designed for kids, so I’ll overlook that the builds are really quite basic, with lots of pre-formed pieces, but they’re sweet little sets all the same.

SONY DSC

Then there’s my little R2 unit. I built him in Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney; you pick your own body, arms, head and Mickey ears or novelty hats to create a unique little droid!

SONY DSC

And Olaf.. Olaf is a handblown glass ornament who came from the Arribas Bros shop on Main Street USA. My super sneaky parents bought him, and got him back to the UK without my knowledge so he could be my birthday present; he’s super sweet!

SONY DSC

So yeah, just a measly collection..

In the weeks to come I hope to share more aspects of my Disney home, including artwork, homewares etc 🙂

Shopping in Disney World

Like it or not, you will not be able to stop yourself from shopping in the Disney parks; there’s just too many cute must-haves available!

That said though, there are a few ways you can be sensible to avoid blowing your budget, as well as not missing out, so here’s a few top tips:

1. Don’t buy generic products!

There are a lot of Disney products that can be found all over the place, from Amazon to Walmart, as well as Disney stores, so don’t spend all your money on items that you could buy any time, any place.

2. If staying on site, get your shopping delivered!

Did you know that if you’re staying at a Disney World resort your items can be sent back to your hotel free of charge? Well you do now! Just ask the cast member at the checkout, and they’ll give you a quick form to fill out, and with a sprinkling of fairy dust, all your souvenirs will be available for you to collect at your resort next day, so say goodbye to lugging large stuffed toys or fragile decorations around the parks all day!

And if you’re not staying in a resort, you can still have your items sent to the park exit for you to collect as you leave.

3. Don’t buy everything straight away..

Many items can be found in a vast array of shops, so don’t rush into buying all your souvenirs on day 1, because chances are you’ll be able to find them elsewhere later in your stay.

4. But don’t regret not buying when you had the chance!

There are a few places with unique souvenirs eg. Animal Kingdom and Epcot’s World Showcase, and the last thing you want to spoil a holiday is falling in love with something, only to find you can’t get it elsewhere and don’t have an opportunity to go back for it.

5. Get personal!

Many items can be personalised or monogrammed in several locations throughout Disney World, so why not make your souvenirs extra special?

6. Take a trip away from the park

If you’re on a budget, leave the shopping for outside the parks. There are two Walmarts that are about a $10 taxi ride away from Downtown Disney which have designated Disney souvenir sections; great items at great prices!

7. Disney’s Character Warehouse

If you’re going to Orlando Premium Outlets, find the Disney Character Warehouse. Yes, a Disney outlet! We stumbled upon this on our trip, and its a goldmine! I’d been looking at a Pascal toy in the parks which was $16.95, and I found the exact same one there for $9.95!

8. Don’t forget your baggage allowance!

When considering souvenirs, don’t forget that important question ‘how am I going to get this home?’. The last thing you want is to get stuck with an extortionate extra bag charge on your flight home, just because you wanted that extra large Mickey.

My Ultimate Disney Christmas Wishlist

Christmas is coming, eek!

I am the ultimate Christmas shopper. I have most, if not all, of my presents by the end of November, because a) I like to get it out of the way, b) I’m good at shopping for other people, so I don’t normally have too much trouble finding great gifts, and c) for both of the previous reasons, my mum tends to rely on me for help doing her shopping!

And as I’ve bought most of the family Disney on Ice tickets for Christmas this year, its left me with a little bit more time to think about what I might be writing to Santa for this year..

Xmas list

1. Large Dumbo soft toy – Disney Store – half price until December 23rd

2. Art of Aurora mug – Disney Store

3. Disneyland Castle Cake Mould – Disney Store

4. World of Disney Limited Edition Finding Nemo Print – Disney Store

5. Mickey Mouse Sweatshirt – ASOS

6. Lost Princess Tiara Ring in Rose Gold – AOS Design on Etsy

What’s on your Disney Christmas wishlist?

°o°

So today I Tsum-Tsum’d my car..

If you don’t know what a Tsum Tsum is, google it now, thank me later. If you have an iPhone, download the game and see how quickly you get addicted (took me about a minute).

So my Tsum Tsum addiction is fairly deep set now, so when I was browsing Etsy for Disney goodies I instantly fell in love with these vinyl decals from SkinDR:

Tsum Tsum Minis Inspired Vinyl Decal Laptop Wall & Vehicle Art : Japanese Skin Sticker Stack Stack + Free Shipping!

I’ve been looking for a way to Disney-fy my car some more for ages; I have a Mickey aerial topper, but you can never have too much Disney, so these were perfect!

I ordered the mini-sized decals. You can buy them in black or white and individually, 5, 10 or all of the designs, but for me there was only one real choice: ALL. After arriving well within the estimated time, I set about applying them. They come individually so you can choose your own layout, which was perfect because it meant I could fit them around the shape of my rear window, like so!

SONY DSC

The application was so easy, and there’s a helpful video tutorial if you need extra guidance, but really it was as simple as peel, stick, scrape, peel!

SONY DSC

Ta-dah! I’m actually missing Pluto here, a small error, but really quickly resolved with great service from the shop owner, so he’ll soon be added to my little stack 🙂

SONY DSC

I can feel a fresh addiction forming..

SONY DSC

And Mickey and Chip love them too!

These sweet stickers would brighten up anything from tech to appliances to furniture; I challenge you to find something they wouldn’t look totally adorable on, so really you’ve got no excuse not to buy some!

Princess Fashion: Elsa

So this week’s posting is going to be a little jumbled.. I’m super busy preparing for my birthday and a wedding at the end of the week, as well as finishing training for a 10k at the weekend, but I’m doing loads of Disney related stuff so it’ll be fueling a tonne of posts!

This Elsa look centres around this amazing new dress from Hot Topic which I stumbled across yesterday

Isn’t it perfect?!

Its so perfect that it basically covers the entire outfit aspect of the look, but I’ve scoured the internet for a few suitably perfect accessories to add to it..

There’s this aquamarine ring from Sarah Birt Jewellery on Etsy:

These shimmery shoes from are from New Look, and are also available on Asos..

So is this clutch bag:

Ladies and gentlemen, Queen Elsa!

A Mickey-inspired Winter Look

So I was out shopping with a girlfriend today, and as two, not-entirely-broke-but-on-a-budget girls, h&m is our haven. And that’s where I came across this little beauty of a beanie hat, and at the same time as completely falling in love with it, inspiration struck!

I know its still a little early to be thinking about really, but its time to start preparing your wardrobe for winter, so here’s a Mickey Mouse inspired look to get you started 🙂

Obviously you’re gonna be needing this hat:

Then there’s this sweet little swing dress from ASOS

But its cold, so don’t forget to wear tights! These are from Primark, and are also available on eBay

20140422-154445.jpg

And a hint of red with these suede boots from Office

Just how sweet are these handmade fingerless gloves from Xasper8ing on Etsy?!

°o°

Please remember I am not sponsored by any of these sites, I just choose items because I like them 🙂

Day 4: Animal Kingdom, and a little Downtown Disney

Finally getting adjusted to the time difference, wahey!

Today we tripped it over to the Animal Kingdom first thing to take advantage of Extra Magic hours, so we got into the park around 8.30 before it opened to the public at 9am. This was perfect timing as it meant we could dash over to Expedition Everest, which we hadn’t managed to get a Fastpass for, and queued for less than 5 minutes as the park was almost empty! So empty in fact, we rode it twice a) cos we knew it’d be a long wait if we came back later, and b) because it was awesome!

By the end of our second go it was just coming up 9 so we shot across to the Kali River Rapids just as it opened and managed to sneak another incredibly lucky short wait. The ride comes with the warning ‘You will get wet, you may get soaked!’ and well, soaked is what we got..

DSC01686

Like, literally wringing out clothes sort of soaked.

We then wandered across to Africa and completed the Pangani trail before out Kilimanjaro Safari Fastpass then after a quick shopping break got in line for The Festival of the Lion King performance. This 30 minute tribute to the Lion King was a great production (full review to follow) involving acrobats, floats and live singers.

Lunch was at Tusker House (table service), another Advanced Dining Reservation, which we’d originally booked just based on a recommendation from a friend of the great food, but it actually turned out to be a character meal as well, so we dined with Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy, all kitted out in their safari gear! Food lived up to its reputation, and the atmosphere was great.

SONY DSC

Lunch was followed by another show, this time Finding Nemo, the Musical. Similar to the traditional Lion King Musical, the show was done in large scale puppetry, with live singers, and was an excellent condensed (40 minutes) version of the film. The puppets themselves were incredible, but the music lacked the classic Disney catchiness.

From there we finished up our day in Dinoland, and left the park surprisingly early with everything done by around 4/5pm, so we caught a bus across to Downtown Disney for a little look around (NB. No buses ran directly from Animal Kingdom to Downtown Disney, so we had to bus over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort and switch buses there).

First stop, obviously was World of Disney, the largest Disney store in the world, although it didn’t seem overwhelmingly large. Due to the offer we had when we booked our trip, we went to collect out $200 gift cards from the information desk inside, which was a bit of a faff but got there in the end. Our group then split in two for the shopping bit as 9 is too large a group for a smooth shopping experience. Our group got a taxi across to Walmart as well for some essentials before we all re-convened at the resort pool for dinner by the poolside with Tarzan on the big screen, and a quick swim!

Tomorrow we’ll be heading to the fourth and final park, Hollywood Studios!

°o°

Family means nobody gets left behind..

This post is going out at Disney so as not to ruin the surprise for the members of the group who follow this blog!

So if you’ve read my blog, you know I put together goodie bags for the girls. This was well known by everyone (except the girls, obviously!), but what they didn’t know was that magic leaves out no-one..

So I put together goodie bags for everyone! And for these ones, I enlisted the help of the girls, they loved being part of the secret (we called it our ‘secret Disney mission’) 🙂

For the ladies, I found cute red and white spotty totes and filled them with treats like lip balm, nail files, cute Minnie phone socks etc, and park essentials: plasters, glow sticks etc.

SONY DSC

The daddies got socks, headphones and Star Wars glow sticks wands packed up in handy reusable themed bag

SONY DSC

On top of these, we had the most fun picking out phone cases for everyone!

SONY DSC

Keeping it in the families, my parents and sister all had Toy Story ones, and my aunt and uncle had Winnie the Pooh 🙂

The difficulty with keeping all the goodie bags secret, however, was packing them up (which I managed to do by hiding the adult ones inside the kiddy ones), and getting rid of everyone for enough time to sneak them into the hotel rooms for the big reveal..

And herein lies the beauty of the secrets! While the adults know I need the girls out of the rooms, they don’t know that I also need them gone, so by creating a large distraction eg: let’s go look for the pool, and filling the girls in on the plan, both parties believe they are the ones keeping the secret, giving me the time to sneak into all the rooms to put out the presents, with a note from The Disney Fairy, and leaving everyone else none the wiser!

Top 10 Disney Kigu Onesies

If there’s anything ebay sellers do best, its onesies. You could probably search for anything and someone somewhere is making it in onesie form..

Ok, ok, so I may be exaggerating ever so slightly, but there is a truly phenomenal selection out there, and I love a good onesie!

Disney Packing Must-Have #4

Spare memory cards

You’re about to make some magical memories, the last thing you need is the dreaded ‘MEMORY FULL’ flashing across your screen as you’re about to capture them.

And although memory cards these days have incredible capacities (my dad just bought an 128GB card for his high-quality camera that will hold 19,000 hi-def images), you can never be too prepared. It may seem a little excessive, but I would recommend bringing 3: one in the camera, one spare in your bag (in a ziploc/waterproof bag) and one in your hotel to trade in if any get too full.

Say cheese..!

Disney Packing Must-Have #3

drinks page

Flavouring for water

If you’re prepared, you never need pay for a drink in Disney World. Why?

Water is available everywhere, free of charge, from drinking fountains to counter service restaurants throughout the parks, all you need is a bottle to store it and you’re set for the day. During the summer months it’s so important to keep hydrated during the day, the last thing you need on your trip is to feel rubbish because you didn’t drink enough.

So if, like me, you prefer something with a bit of flavour to it, flavourings like Kool Aid or concentrates like Squash’d or Drops (a bit less messy than Kool Aid) are ideal; they’re small enough to pop in a pocket if you don’t carry a bag, and are super concentrated, so one little bottle can last ages. Plus, you’ll find it easier to get the kids to drink up!

Disney Packing Must-Have #2

Little Mermaid

A swimsuit

While you might be thinking ‘duh, of course I’ll need a swimsuit!’, but its important that you bring an all-in-one style suit as well as a two piece bikini, and the reason for that is science..

Picture the scene: Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, scorching Florida day, nice big slide opening out into a pool full of people, and while gravity might be pulling your body down, your top is going to want to stay put and fly back up. Its happened to everyone, embarrassing or what?

So save the bikini for the hotel pool or lying out in the sun, and save your dignity by packing a one-piece for the waterparks! 🙂

Disney Packing Must-Have #1

The first of many posts, I’ll be posting a different packing must-have every day! 🙂

Mini Sharpies

As well as taking up less space, mini Sharpies come with handy little loop you can use to attach them to bags or zips, so you’ve always got one to hand; you’ll need them!

Sharpies make the perfect pen for autographs – nice and fat for characters to hold, don’t dry out easily, available in every colour imaginable and, of course, permanent, so perfect if you want autographs on tshirts or other unique items.

On top of autographs, having a permanent marker to hand means you can label your resort mugs, bags, strollers, valuables, children..

Disney Tights

In my opinion, trousers are overrated. If I could, I’d spend most days Donald Duck style (with underwear though, of course!), but unfortunately this isn’t socially acceptable in most places..

So I live in dresses, skirts and shorts, which means when the weather is bad, as it so often is in England, tights are my best friends! And while most people overlook them as functional but boring, I know that they can add to any outfit.

Personalised Disney Chopping Board

If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Etsy shopping. Not only is it packed with a load of fabulous vintage and handmade items, a whole lot of them are Disney related, so what’s not to love?!

sop

So I was browsing through Disney kitchenware when I stumbled across some cute Disney chopping boards from Katez Kreationz, so I quickly popped it onto my favourites list and continued browsing. Not long after, Katherine (the shop owner) sent me a message offering me 40% off my first order, how could I resist?!

message

And then I found out about Katherine’s shop background.. She plans to be the first Canadian Female under 30 to run a marathon in every US state, and all her profits straight towards her charity marathons as she doesn’t have a sponsor.

It was a tough decision, but I settled on her Mickey Mouse design. All the chopping boards are woodburned by hand onto 100% bamboo, all can be personalised with captions or messages, and if you don’t like any of her designs (not that you wouldn’t, I want all of them!), you can ask her very nicely for a custom!

board

Once I made up my mind and added my personalised caption, all I had to do was pop in the discount code I had been sent and bam! 40% off!

Now, you’d expect a handmade, personalised item to take AGES to be ready for shipping, right? Nope. My item was shipped the next day, along with a lovely message letting me know that my purchase is going towards the Leukaemia Lymphoma marathon in San Diego 🙂

And only 10 days from my purchase..

I love a good trip to Ikea and work in B&Q (UK equivalent of Home Depot), and if I had a house of my own I don’t think I would ever stop redecorating!

So I decided to share my Disney decorating inspiration, and today it’s..

Winnie

Winnie the Pooh!

It’s gender neutral, making it perfect for shared bedrooms or play rooms! Start off with a bright feature wall, as above, then use a less busy pattern to cover the bottom half of the other walls, topped with a contrasting border (wallpapering the bottom half of a wall is great if you have little ones who have a tendency to draw on walls..).

You can then use wall stickers or other wall art around the rest of the walls.

Apparently white furniture is very ‘in’ at the moment. I’m not totally sold on this, but consider it a blank canvas that you can customize with wall stickers, or you even use spray paint to add colour. The leaf canopy is great for adding a touch of the Hundred Acre Wood, and chunky tables, chairs and storage make it a proper kids room!

Alice in Wonderland Jewellery Finds

This week I’ve once again searched Etsy high and low to find you the cutest jewellery from through the looking glass..

That’s right, Alice in Wonderland!

Disney Goodie Bags

As I’ve mentioned before in my Pre-Disney Shopping post, the best way to save yourself time and money is to pre-buy souvenirs (whether it be before you leave for your trip or nipping out to the local Walmart or Target upon arrival), then surprise the kids with these little bits and pieces throughout your trip. This means that your little ones are less likely to want the ‘must-have’ park souvenirs which cost two to three times the price.

So I’ve put together a goodie bag for each of my girls, and the plan is to sneak them into their hotel room once we’ve arrived.

SONY DSCCute, right?

Expensive? Not at all. I spent about £15 on each, which includes the personalised drawstring bag and all the goodies inside.

Each bag is filled with little Disney goodies like notebooks, pencil cases, iPod cases and earphones, and also some park necessities such as glow sticks, water ponchos and mini fans, and none of these items cost more than a few pounds.

You can buy these bits and bobs in all sorts of places. Ebay is a great place to buy the more techie items like mini fans, flashing lights, earphones etc, and also a haven of personalised goodies, while places like supermarkets and bargain shops are ideal for stationery and accessories.

You might want to keep some goodies back to surprise them with throughout your trip, for example I’ll be bringing an enormous stash of glow sticks, and some flashing light toys to whip out for evening parades.

With 210 days to go (eeek!), I may yet add more goodies as I find them! What are your must-pack Disney goodies? 🙂

Disney Movie Rewards

So as part of my Pre-Disney Movie Marathon, I’ve been stocking up my DVD collection with Disney classics. Our family DVD collection is fairly tiny, so it needed a little brightening up, and in doing so I stumbled across this little gem that I feel any Disney nut should be aware of..

Disney Movie Rewards

Disney Movie Rewards is a scheme in which by buying Disney DVDs or Blu-rays and even Disney video games and CDs, you can earn points which can be redeemed for a fab range of rewards. Along with some free rewards such as colouring sheet downloads and desktop backgrounds, you can spend your points on activity packs (around 25 points) to DVDs and Blu-rays (500-750 points), and even charitable donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Why not get something for nothing?!

Setting up your account is easy – if you already have an account with Disney, even more so! Its just a quick form: name, email address etc, then you’re good to go. Each eligible item has a code, usually on the leaflet inside the box, all you have to do is pop the code into the website, then it will ask for the last 6 digits of the EAN, and that’s it: points earnt! 100 points for DVDs, 150 for Blu-rays, 80 for CDs, 250-300 for video games, and all of these add up surprisingly quickly so you can start reaping the rewards.

Rewards

I found codes in three of my new Disney DVDs, plus my copy of Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray, and I also completed a survey for an extra 50 points, bringing my total points up to 500 – enough to redeem a DVD!

There are so many rewards to choose from, but I’m concentrating on DVDs, so I chose Cars (which would have cost £7.50 on Amazon) to spend my 500 points. You can redeem any reward up to 3 times per account, and its as simple as clicking ‘Redeem’, providing an address, and waiting!

Reward confirmation

Still not convinced? Well, whether you’re a DVD person or a Blu-ray person, it works out that for every 5 you buy/already own, you get one free, and who doesn’t like that kind of math?

So go on, get shopping!
