My Christmas 2017 Wish List

And another Christmas is upon us, where did that year go, huh?

Every year as I get older I miss the days of spending hours flicking through the Argos catalogue, because I seem to be losing the ability to respond to the question of ‘what do you want for Christmas?’, so I now have the new tradition of sticking it all in a blog post and that way my family have a convenient reference point and I get some fun content out of it!

So what’s on the list this year?

Matthew and I have already agreed that as we both want new earphones, that’s what we’re going to get each other to save the hassle of shopping. I’ve got my eye on the new Fitbit Flyer wireless earphones which were released a few months ago – I’ve seen loads of great reviews for them and I’m hoping they’ll help in my marathon training! And speaking of marathon training, I’m thinking that I might want a small hydration pack for carrying water (and all my other stuff!) on longer runs. Also on the fitness subject, I’ve got my eye on this pretty Fiorelli gym bag!

As per usual, I’m always good with Lush goodies, and my favourite new product from their Christmas collection this year is the Buck’s Fizz body conditioner because it smells SO GOOD. I’m also loving the Angels on Bare Skin facial cleanser right now so wouldn’t say no to a tub of that!

And books, I always love a book.. On the wishlist at the moment is Eat Like a Gilmore: The Unofficial Cookbook for fans of Gilmore Girls because a) I love a recipe book and b) I love Gilmore Girls and this book seems like a good’un. I’m also on a mission to learn to draw, and I’ve seen a few ‘Learn to Draw Disney..’ books on Amazon that look like really great step by step guides.

The last thing on the list will probably be a Christmas present to me from me because I haven’t yet decided what I want and either way its pretty pricey! I’m desperate for a new lens for my Sony A5000 camera, and am currently torn between the 30mm macro and the 50mm – if anyone has any thoughts on the matter please drop me a comment!

What’s on your Christmas list this year?

Another Disney Trip Bucket List

In two weeks time, I will be on my way to Manchester in preparation to fly out to Orlando!! Yes, I know I’ve been to WDW once already this year, but I’ve worked my butt off to pay for this trip and its my first proper holiday with Matthew and our first Disney trip together and I could not be more excited.

What I love about Disney is that even having been before, on every trip there is always something new, or something I’ve never done before, and even just the usual magic that gets me so excited every time, and this trip is no exception. There are a bunch of new things I’ll be experiencing on this trip, as well as some firm favourites, and here are just a few that I’m buzzed for:

  • Pandora – on my last two trips to WDW, I’ve observed the cranes and developments of the newest addition to Animal Kingdom, and on this trip I’ll finally get to see the beautiful creation that is Pandora. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind of it not living up to my expectations!
  • Food and Wine Festival – this will be my first time going to F&W at Epcot and I’m so hyped to eat ALL THE FOOD.
  • Bon Voyage breakfast – speaking of food, I’ve been internally squealing about the newest character breakfast since it was announced, and I can’t wait to be finally doing it!
  • Taking cute photobooth photos in DinoLand – Sarah and I found the photobooth in Animal Kingdom back in Feb, but I’m planning on being the ultimate cheese couple and dragging Matthew in there so we can have old school photobooth print-out photos
  • Toothpaste wall photos – being the Disney basic girl I am, I am of course buzzed for wall photos, but would you believe I’ve yet to take photos at the toothpaste wall?! Of course I’ll also be doing the other walls too (hello bubblegum wall) but this is one I’m particularly excited for.
  • Mickey’s Not So Scary – I am going to trick or treat til I drop! This will be my first ever Halloween party and while I’m not the biggest Halloween fan normally, I can’t wait to see all the exclusive shows and parades, plus all the amazing characters!
  • Blizzard Beach – my last two WDW trips have been during the early months of the year, so I haven’t been to the waterparks since 2014. I rarely spend a whole day in a waterpark anyway, but I’m excited to be going back.
  • New outfits – you don’t have to know me that well to know I LOVE planning Disney outfits. For this trip I’ve got all new looks and I am LIVING for some of them!
  • A new Disney gym – we’re staying at Coronado Springs for this trip, and the resort has its own gym! If I’m staying at a resort with a gym I always go for a nosey and a workout, call me crazy!

I’ll be in WDW from October 30th-November 14th, and if anyone is around give me a shout!

My Disney Cruise Bucket List

I feel like I’ve hardly talked about the fact that next month I’ll be going on my first ever Disney Cruise – crazy right?!

Because it is my first cruise, I genuinely have no idea what to expect, and I’ve not done a whole lot of research, which is very unlike me, so I’m essentially going in blind, but what is a trip without a bucket list?

  • Take a photo by the funnels – yes, I want that cliche Disney cruise photo, and any other classic photo that I can get
  • Visit the ship’s gym – call me strange, but I love visiting gyms at Disney hotels and resorts, so when I discovered that the Disney Magic has a fully equipped gym, I knew I’d be adding that to the list
  • See Tangled: The Musical – apparently there is a Tangled show on board the ship, so you bet your butt I’m gonna be there
  • Eat as much as I can without bursting – when all food is included in the price, you’ve gotta get your money’s worth, right?
  • Do all the waterslides on the boat – no, the waterslides aren’t just for kids.
  • Meet as many characters as I can – because is it really a Disney cruise if you don’t hang out with Mickey and the gang?
  • Explore every little nook and cranny of the ship – I want to see ALL of it
  • Take ALL the outfit photos – as per every other Disney trip, I have planned a whole bunch of outfits specifically for this trip, and you bet you’re gonna be seeing a tonne of them all over here and my social media
  • Party like a pirate – did you know that every Disney cruise has a pirate night? Well I do now, and I can’t wait!
  • Order room service, just ‘cos – all-inclusive perks..
  • Hang out with my best friends – as well as the excitement of my first ever Disney cruise, I’m going with some amazing people and I can’t wait to spend this time with them! Best trip ever!

If you’ve ever been on a Disney Cruise and have any tips or advice, please drop me a comment!

My Current Disney Wishlist

Happy hump day y’all, its a Wednesday wishlist!

Would you guys believe that on my Disney trip at the start of the month I only bought ONE piece of merchandise?! That’s right, all I bought from Disneyland was a jumper which was actually bought out of necessity on a cool night (although I did also love it!), and I’m just as shocked as you are. So I’m gonna share some other Disney bits that I’ve got my eye on at the moment instead!

My love of anything Its a Small World is no secret. I frequently use the term Small World trash to describe myself, but the Small World trash cans are also a particular favourite of mine – can’t you tell by my love of this Small World trash can phone case from Redbubble, and also the Trashy hat from Spellerific Styles?

I’ve been following Lillian and Co on Instagram and wanting one of their beautiful bracelets for a while now, and I’ve got major heart-eyes for this Tangled inspired quote, and I’ve added myself to the waiting list for the new rose gold Moana one.. And speaking of Tangled, have you seen the beautiful Tangled journal from the Disney Store? I REALLY want one but I think I’d be too scared to ever use it because its so pretty!

Finally, with more Disney trips on the horizon, and more outfits to be planned, I’m tempted to treat myself to some new buttons from Parkbound, but how to decide which ones?!

Have you got your eye on anything at the moment?

My Summer 2017 Bucket List

It may not still be able to quite make up its mind, but the sun is finally shining in Bournemouth today and I’m hoping and praying that summer is finally on its way at last!

I have zero holiday allowance left at work, so this will be the first summer in a good few years that I haven’t been jetting off somewhere on a grand adventure, but I won’t be letting that stop me from filling my free time with as many little adventures and activities as I can. I wrote a summer bucket list last year, but I hardly scraped the surface with that list so I’m starting anew and hoping to actually complete this years!

  • Go to a music festival – no, I’m not gonna be hitting Glasto or V-fest, but we have a few great local festivals and I really fancy spending a day on a picnic mat listening to good live music and eating from food trucks in the sun.
  • Pick your own – I’ve always fancied going to one of those farms where you can pick your own berries and stuff
  • Bingo night – I have never been to a bingo club before, and I’m a little dubious, but so many people say its a good laugh so why not?
  • Go to an outdoor cinema – something on the list from last year that I never managed to do, here’s hoping for success this year
  • Take Matthew to the air festival – Bournemouth Air Festival is a pretty big deal, and Matthew’s never been before and put a pilot at an air festival and I’m pretty sure he’ll be happy
  • Actually get a tan – I normally spend too much time indoors to see any sort of colour change in my skin, but after a bit of a top up on my trip to California, I’m keen to spend as much time outdoors so that my legs stop reflecting light.
  • Tale as Old as Time Afternoon Tea – late to the party, but I’m finally going to the famous Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea at the Kensington Hotel with two of my favourite people in June and I can’t wait!
  • Go Ape – I’ve been saying for ages that I want to go back to Go Ape at Moors Valley, and I need to actually get round to swinging in the trees again
  • Celebrate our first anniversary – when I wrote my summer bucket list last year, one of the things on that list was my first date with Matthew. Well that was almost a year ago now, and I can’t wait to celebrate a whole year with the love of my life.

I’ve kept the list a little shorter this year in the hopes that I’ll actually achieve all of them! Wish me luck!

My Most Hated Movies

Have you ever watched a film and as the credits roll just sat back and thought ‘those are a few hours of my life that I am never getting back’?

From overhyped openings to straight to DVDs releases, they’re the movies that you can’t even describe as funny-bad, and these are a few that I’ve had the painful experience of watching.

Cowboys and Aliens

What even happened in this film? Like I know I sat and watched it one afternoon, but did it even have a storyline? I don’t remember anything, just how painfully dull it was.

Marley and Me

Someone actually gave me this on DVD for my birthday one year. I mean, is that the worst and cruellest present yet? If I can give you one piece of advice, I would be don’t ever watch it, especially if you’re a dog lover.

Diary of a Teenage Girl

Netflix lists this as a comedy, and I guarantee you it is not. I watched it on a plane once and even midway through an 11 hour journey from LA it wasn’t worth it.

The Lifeguard

Generally I like anything with Kristen Bell in, but this was all sorts of awful.

127 Hours

I remember this film as the most painful cinema experience of my life. I spent the whole first part of the movie on edge waiting for the inevitable moment, and then the rest either bored out of my mind or grossed out. I get that its a real story and everything but no no no.

These are just a selection of a few that I’ve had the misfortune of actually watching through, but if you’ve got any recommendations to NOT watch, drop me a comment!

My Disneyland Trip Bucket List

It still hasn’t quite hit home that in a few short weeks I’ll be stepping back into what is, in my opinion, the most special of all the Disney parks. There’s just something extra magical about Disneyland, and for a lot of reasons it holds a very special place in my heart, and I’m super excited to be going back with my Disney twin, Sarah, who I know loves the park just as much as I do.

Here are a few things I’ll be looking to do this trip:

  • Sob over Mickey and the Magical Map – I’ll probably attempt to set a new record for the number of times I watch this in a single trip, and I will definitely cry every time. Plus Sarah has never seen it so its an excuse to drag her along, right?
  • Haunted Mansion – being closed on my last trip, I definitely want to take a doom-buggy to visit the 999 happy haunts after almost 7 years.
  • Frozen at Hyperion Theatre – I loved Aladdin, and was gutted to have missed the last showing by just 3 days, but I’m curious to see the show that’s replaced it.
  • Photoshoots in Toontown – we both love a good outfit shoot, and we both love Toontown, so hello new favourite place to hang out..
  • Red Rose Taverne – gotta find out if the new Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant is worth the hype, right?
  • Jungle Crusin’ – another ride that was closed on my last trip, I need to get some skipper time!
  • Main Street Electrical Parade – as much as I hate not having Paint the Night in Disneyland anymore, I really missed MSEP when I was in Florida.
  • Soarin’ Around the World – would you believe I’ve never done Soarin’ in California?
  • Meet Oswald – I’m on a mission to meet 100 different characters this year, and I’ve never met the lucky bunny before
  • Animation Academy – while I can’t draw to save my life, I still always love going to Animation Academy to attempt it!

Hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze all this in as well as everything else PLUS running the Pixie Dust Challenge in the Tinkerbell Half Marathon Weekend, wish me luck!

Late Night Activities

I can quite categorically say that I am not a night owl. If I decide to watch a movie after about 8.30pm, I guarantee I will not be awake when the credits roll, and I’ve even been known to fall asleep in the cinema. Me and sleep just have this special relationship, and let’s just say I’m pretty needy.

For some strange reason, however, there are a few things that I can easily stay up way past my natural bedtime doing..

Sewing

For an activity that involves a fair amount of concentration, it seems bizarre that often if I can still be sat at my sewing machine up towards midnight, but even weirder is that I tend to be more efficient and creative the later it gets!

Cleaning makeup brushes

I find cleaning my makeup brushes oddly satisfying, and of course it makes sense to do them at night so they can dry out overnight, but it is a bit of a time consuming activity at the same time, so when its a pre-bedtime thought, it normally turns into a bit of a labour of love.

Dancing

My nighttime routine often consists of plugging my headphones in and jamming around a little bit while I’m getting ready for bed, but sometimes this quick jam practically turns into a pre-sleep workout as I dance around my bedroom until my playlist is exhausted before I am..

Planning workouts

If I’m hitting the sack in prep for an early morning gym session, my thoughts will often wonder to what my workout will bring, and I can get caught up in planning an absolute beast of a circuit to kick start my morning

Making lists

Much like this one, written at 11.30pm..

32 ‘Controversial’ Opinions

Personally, I really don’t like the term controversial opinion. Your opinion is just that, yours, and it shouldn’t matter what other people think of it.

But in the interest of entertainment, here are a bunch of mine:

  1. I hate avocado
  2. I don’t understand the hype of music festivals
  3. Also not really keen on Katy Perry
  4. Coffee is yuck
  5. I do not understand the appeal of Gaston in Beauty and the Beast
  6. I don’t really like wine
  7. I don’t find Big Brother at all entertaining
  8. Same goes for I’m a Celebrity
  9. I enjoy cardio
  10. Not everyone suits tattoos
  11. I don’t like tea
  12. I’d rather have a long shower than a long bath
  13. I like mornings
  14. I also sorta like Mondays
  15. I don’t like to openly discuss my political or religious views
  16. The customer is NOT always right
  17. I’d rather have no friends than fake friends
  18. I hate Snapchat
  19. I actually really like Bloglovin
  20. I don’t find South Park funny
  21. Not every article on Buzzfeed is funny
  22. Yes Frozen was played out too much but it is still a good movie with great music
  23. I don’t really like Starbucks
  24. Ibiza doesn’t appeal to me as a holiday destination
  25. I cannot comprehend the worlds obsession with the Kardashians
  26. Also why do movies glamourise abusive relationships and people actually see these fictional couples as goals?
  27. I prefer Tokyo and Hong Kong Disneylands over Shanghai
  28. There’s nothing wrong with taking a day for yourself when life gets too much
  29. I don’t like smoked salmon
  30. I also like my steaks on the well done end of the spectrum
  31. I think burping is more disgusting than farts
  32. I think those suitcases with 4 little wheels look stupid and prefer those with 2

Agree with me on any of these?

Walt Disney World Must Dos for Donald Lovers

If, like me, you hold a huge soft spot for a certain sassy duck, then there are a number of things that you should be adding to your next WDW trip to-do list, and here they are!

1. Meet the Astounding Donaldo at Pete’s Silly Sideshow

He really is magic!

2. Ride the Gran Fiesta Tour

Its basically a Donald theme Its a Small World

3. Then hang out with Donald in the Mexico Pavilion

Donald + poncho = my fave

4. Lunch at Tusker House Restaurant

Tusker is the best meal I’ve had in Animal Kingdom, and an adorable duck host makes it even better

5. Royal Friendship Faire

This is a double bonus if you’re a Tangled fan, because Donald, ruffians and thugs are one hell of a combo

6. Mickey’s Philharmagic

The mouse’s name might be in the title, but we all know who the real star of this is..

7. Meet the Jurassic classic

Head over to Dinoland USA in Animal Kingdom to meet Donald in all his adventurer gear

8. Breakfast at Cape May Cafe

Not only is this a delicious buffet breakfast in one of my all-time favourite Disney resorts, but it also features a duck who’s ready to hit the beach!

I love this duck!

My WDW Trip Shopping List

wdw-shopping-list

Considering its only 10 days til I leave for WDW, I feel super unprepared compared to previous trip! What’s even more surprising is that when I started to think about what to include on this list, I actually really struggled!

I know that as soon as I step foot into the first shop, I’ll see a million different things that I want, but there are a few things that I’m going in with the intention of buying..

  • Anatasia Beverly Hills glow kits – not technically Disney, but now there’s a Sephora in Disney Springs, its the perfect opportunity for me to look at getting the two kits that literally turn me into the heart-eyes emoji. I’m a total ABH virgin, but I’m saving my first purchases for a slightly better exchange rate!
  • RunDisney 2017 Vinylmation – I haven’t seen any photos released yet, but usually there’s a new Vinylmation released with each year of races, and its like a combination of my two favourite things: RunDisney and Vinylmations.
  • Teacup mug – I’m not sure if these are still available in the parks, but I LOVE these teacup replica mugs! If I could, I’d get a whole set of them, but I know getting them home would be a nightmare..
  • Happily Ever After princess mug – my mug obsession continues.. I fell in love with this mug the second I saw Amy post a photo of hers and now I need to get one, ha!
  • Park exclusive tsum tsums – whenever I see park exclusive tsum releases, I’m always gutted that I live in the UK and the US Disney Store doesn’t ship to us, so if I see any of these cuties around, I’m gonna be all over them like a rash!

I just hope I can fit everything in my suitcase!

Our 2017 Adventure Bucket List

I’ve become so used to writing a relationship post on the 28th of each month, but as the long distance part of our story is finally coming to an end, I figured I’d write something a little different today. Well actually, we wrote it together..

Couple Bucket List

January is all about making plans for the coming year, so we’ve put together a little bucket list of things that Matthew and I will be hoping to do together this year, and it goes a little something like this:

  • A weekend in London – we’ve got a weekend in London booked for a couple of weeks, and it’ll be our first little staycation-type trip! We’re gonna be total tourists, see a show and go to..
  • WB Harry Potter Studios Tour – I bought tickets for us to go to the studios tour for Matthew’s birthday last month, so we’re tagging it onto the end of our London weekend
  • A trip to Disneyland Paris – gotta practice for our big trip at the end of the year!
  • Crabbing in Mudeford – Matthew’s never been crabbing before, and I can’t wait to introduce him to it
  • Go to the drive-in cinema – I’ve never been to a drive-in before, and there’s a proper one up in Manchester which we’re gonna hit
  • Fly somewhere with Matthew as the pilot – if that’s not the perk of being a pilot’s girlfriend, I don’t know what is..
  • Back to the Future marathon – apparently its not good enough that I’ve only seen the first one, ha!
  • Star Wars marathon – just cos..
  • The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings marathon – for me this is just a standard weekend, but Matthew’s never watched them with me and that’s a treat in itself 😉
  • Go to Shakeaway – its a Bournemouth thing..
  • Eat in at least 3 Rainforest Cafes – we’re gonna go while we’re in London, but we’ll also have a chance to do a few more while we’re in America later in the year – ONE DOWN!
  • Go to Walt Disney World – its all booked, and WE CAN’T WAIT!!!
  • Adventures in Manchester – because I’m a total southerner, I get a guided tour of Manchester from a proper local!

No doubt we’ll be constantly adding to this list in the coming months, but I think its definitely gonna be a great year of adventure!

My 2017 Reading List

My 2017 Reading List

If you read my New Years resolutions post, you’ll know that this year I’m hoping to read more books than the atrocious total of one that I read last year. Let’s face it, one book isn’t exactly going to be difficult to beat, but in order to help myself along the way, I’ve written a little book bucket list, if you will, to keep me on track!

  • The Lord of the Rings trilogy – I’m determined to complete these books this year. I’ve started them all and never finished, and its my favourite saga of all time so if I complete nothing else this year, I want to do this.
  • Scrappy Little Nobody – a little more lighthearted, I got Anna Kendrick’s book for Christmas and I can’t wait to get stuck into her writing
  • The Great Gatsby – while many people studied this at school, I didn’t, and I’ve also never seen the movie because I want to read it first ha!
  • Who Moved My Cheese? – this was a book I’ve been interested in for a while now, and I got it for my birthday last year but still haven’t got round to so much as turning the first page!
  • The Jungle Book – I’m really interested in what this book is really like compared to the films!
  • RE-READ Harry Potter – a few years ago I read some of the books again for the first time since the films came out, and I had forgotten about so many little details that are skipped in the movies! I’m also gonna make my boyfriend read them because he never has!
  • Why Not Me? – written by Mindy Kaling, this book just seems like something I’d be able to relate to

So that’s 15 books in a year, which might be very few to some but its a starting point for me at least! If you’ve got any book recommendations then please send them my way!

My DLP Weekend Bucket List

So SURPRISE! I’m going to Disneyland Paris this weekend!

Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant

It was all very spur of the moment; my friend Nancy from California is coming to Paris for a few weeks and she’ll be in the parks that weekend, so I’m so excited to get to see her as its been over a year! There’s also going to be a load of people I know in the parks over the same weekend, so it all kinda fell into place!

And while it’s just a short weekend visit, there are a few things that I’m hoping to do, and here they are:

  • Explore Newport Bay Club – I had every intention of saving money and staying at Santa Fe, but Disney couldn’t fit me in over my dates, so I sorta upgraded myself to Newport Bay.. I haven’t stayed there since I was a kid and its such a pretty hotel I can’t wait to be there!
  • Meet Moana – I just HAVE to meet this beautiful new princess!! Its no secret how much I fell in love with everything about the movie, and seeing her will be an absolute dream!
  • Enjoy Season of the Force – I’m really excited for all the Star Wars stuff that’s going on at the moment, including the Galactic Celebration show in Walt Disney Studios!
  • Outfit shoots – is it really a Disney trip if I haven’t planned outfits?! I’ve got two Disneybounds that I’m really looking forward to wearing and taking photos in the parks so I can feature them on here in the next few weeks.
  • Hanging out with beautiful people – as well as seeing Nancy, I can’t wait to hang out with some amazing people who I know will be around, like the beautiful Amy and Cara, and also the fabulous Mitch!
  • Playing with my camera and new lens – I’m using this trip as a way to test run my new telescopic lens for my Sony A5000 so I know its good enough to take to Florida with me next month!
  • Eating Mickey shaped food – cos if you don’t do that, are you even in Disney?
  • Ride Big Thunder Mountain – after its been closed FOREVVVEERRRR, BTM has finally reopened, and while I imagine the queues will be ridiculous, I’m hoping to be able to get to ride it once over the weekend!
  • Surround myself in magic – I’m just really looking forward to being back in the parks for a few days and having as much fun as I can!

Be sure to follow my Twitter and Instagram for live updates from my adventures!

The Lush Products I Will Buy Again and Again

Lush skincare and haircare

I’ve been talking a lot recently about seasonal Lush products, so I thought today I’d share with you the bog-standard (if you can even call them that!) items need near constant replenishment for me!

1 and 2. Jumping Juniper shampoo bar and American Cream conditioner

Jumping Juniper was actually one of the first Lush products I ever tried, and although I’ve tried a few other shampoo bars, this is the one that does it for me! Combined with American Cream, its a total game-changer. I used to think my hair was ‘difficult’ because I had to wash it every day to keep it looking nice, but these two have my hair looking great for 2-3 days at a time, and I don’t get that greasy full-of-product feeling that regular branded shampoo and conditioner give me.

3. Rub Rub Rub shower scrub

This is everything! Its a scrub, but it also foams up and its got great moisturising qualities, it smells amazing and works wonders! As well as using it on my body, once every 1-2 weeks I’ll also use it in my hair as an alternative to conditioner – might sound crazy but I love it!

4 and 5. 9 to 5 cleanser and Breath of Fresh Air toner

Lush pros might see this combo as a little basic, but if it works, right? 9 to 5 is just super soothing and makes my skin feel totally clean, and the scent of Breath of Fresh Air at the end of the day just makes me feel ready for a good night of beauty sleep

6. The Comforter shower gel

I love The Comforter everything, but as I’m more of a shower person than a bath person, the shower gel means I can enjoy the amazing smell every day. Its pink, its pretty and it smells like all things yummy!

7. Brightside bubble bar

This is one of the prettiest bubble bars in my eyes, and as I’m a fan or fruity over floral, this is a bar I’ll reach for again and again. I’m also a bubble bar over bath bomb person!

8. Avobath

I don’t know how Lush do it, but they’ve made a bath bomb that simultaneously wakes me up and calms me down in Avobath. The avocado oil gets my skin feel super soft and moisturised and its just a great all-rounder.

What are your go-to Lush products?

My Christmas Wishlist

Tis the season for hint dropping! Falalalala and all..

In all fairness, each year I publish my wishlist so my family can use it as a guide, so this post really kills two birds with one stone, but as I had a pretty mega birthday present this year (hello Lego Disney Castle), I’m really not asking for, or expecting much this year, so I’ve just looked at a few little stocking filler-type gifty bits!

My Christmas Wishlist 2016

Ok, totally gimmicky and probably not very practical, but with 2017 being another year full of races, I’m kinda drawn to light up shoe laces so I can shine my way through Disney, and amazingly, you can get them on Amazon for about £8, which is way less than I thought they’d be!

I may have a few novelty phone cases, but they’re all bulky silicone ones that I don’t use often, and my current plastic one has been dropped a few too many times and is cracked pretty badly now – well, I’d rather that than my phone itself.. Skinnydip have quite a few cute ones, but I came across the Catnut and Caticorn in the sale for under £10 and I think they’re my faves, as well as bargains! Speaking of cute, how adorable is Vinyl Pop Meeko?

Anna Kendrick is now an author? YESSS. Gotta get my hands on Scrappy Little Nobody, she is my sarcastic spirit animal and I think it’ll be a proper giggle.

The last few bits represent a few of my struggles in life: 1. My favourite mascara, Eyeko Black Magic, isn’t available in regular stores like Boots or even Feel Unique, so I’ve been getting by on a tube I’ve had for longer than I care to admit because I can’t be bothered to order it from Selfridges. 2. I’m a nightmare at not only hoarding stationery, but also choosing it. I have to fully vet any potential planner, and having had success with Kikki K before, this Cute planner (actually its name, not just my go-to description) seems like a good choice, although I’m also kinda lusting over the Peony Happiness Planner (not pictured), but as both are undated, at least I’ve got options, ha! 3. I am a cliche rose gold obsessed girl who dreams of being a princess, and the shrewd among you may have noticed this ring on my wishlist last year. It was from my favourite jewellery store on Etsy, so my heart dropped into my stomach when suddenly the store disappeared, but I’ve recently discovered they’ve got their own website now, so yay!

What’s on your Christmas list?

With over 50 animated classics filled with amazing characters, its easy for some to slip through the net when people think about their favourites.

This makes me kinda sad, especially as some of these absolute gems have disappeared from the Disney parks, while some didn’t even get their chance, so in honour of these forgotten wonders, here are my top 10:

1. Meeko

I frequently talk about my love of Meeko. As a kid, Pocahontas was one of my favourite films, purely for Meeko, and I once was so excited to meet him in WDW that I practically tackled him to the floor.

2. Esmeralda

Hunchback was another film I loved as a kid, and I had a toy set which included an Esmeralda doll. As an adult, I now obviously see the darker side of that film, but I still think she’s fab.

3. Oliver

I fell in love with Oliver and Company from the first watch as a child, and Oliver is just the cutest and most underrated of all the Disney kitties

4. Kida (and Milo)

Atlantis in general is totally underrated in my opinion, and the fact that Kida is forgotten as a Disney princess, despite having the title really gets to me sometimes. Also Milo is awesome.

5. Princess Eilonwy

The Black Cauldron terrified me and my sister when we were kids, but I always like Eilonwy. I finally watched the film again for the first time since my childhood last year, and its still pretty dark, but I’m happy to have gotten over my fear!

6. Nani

This is a big one for me. While so many people adore Lilo and Stitch, they totally look past the fact that this is a sister who has lost her parents, and is trying to do absolutely everything she can to keep custody of her little sister so her life doesn’t have to change any more than it already has. SHE IS EVERYTHING.

8. Pacha

Another ultimate family person right here. Just always doing the right thing, no matter the sacrifice for himself

9. Gus Gus

Wouldn’t Gus and Jaq make the cutest character meets?! I mean, you can meet Suzie and Perla, so why not the boy mice?

10. Dot

I had to throw a Pixar character in here too, but I do really love Dot as she’s so cute and a little bit sassy!

A Fitness Bucket List

Tips for buying running shoes

You may have noticed I love writing bucket lists (and lists in general), and as I’m gearing back up to get back into training properly in the run up to Christmas and next years races, I’ve been thinking a lot about things I’d love to do – hello fitness bucket list!

Attend a Sweaty Betty class

Did you know that Sweaty Betty put on a bunch of FREE fitness classes across the country? I’m not particularly close to any of the locations but I’m still totally up for going to one one day!

Run a marathon

This is something on my 5 before 25 list, and I’ve still got 3 years to achieve this! To be honest, I just want to be able to say I’ve done it, even if it takes me a whole day to finish!

Go to a spinning class

I have no issue jumping on a bike, either on the road or at the gym, but the thought of a spinning class really scares me for some reason! I’ve heard lots of great things about them though, so it might be something I need to try!

The Color Run

I really wanted to do The Color Run this year – I was aiming for Brighton – but the timing wasn’t right and I couldn’t find anyone to do it with, so another year it is!

Do a forearm headstand

Ultimate yoga goals right here! I know its gonna take a lot of practice but to be able to do it one day would be awesome.

Compete in a triathlon

Sure, running is my jam, but I’m never one to turn down a challenge so I’d be pretty interested to see how I cope with running after a swim and cycle ride..

Climb a mountain

Ok so I very much doubt it’ll be Everest or anything, but it would be pretty cool to say I’ve done one!

Be able to do unassisted pull ups

I’m aiming to be able to do just one by the end of this year, but to comfortably be able to knock out a few sets in the gym would be pretty awesome.

What’s on your bucket list?

Hello Autumn

Hello Autumn

Ok, I know Autumn doesn’t officially start for a few more days, but why can’t the seasons just fit around my blogging schedule? I joke, of course..

I’m seeing so many people getting excited for Autumn – I’ve even seen some people who have been wishing away Summer in exchange for Autumn! I am not one of those people.

Autumn is an interesting one for me. It obviously contains my birthday, and starts the run up to Christmas (MY FAVE), but other than that, I don’t get excited about all the things that gets the rest of the world buzzed for; the Starbucks menu, Halloween etc..

But I like to keep things positive, so here are a few things that this season brings:

Onesies

I could quite happily wear my onesies all the time, but its just way too hot in the summer, so the autumn weather brings onesie season back!

Chelsea boots

I bought my first pair of chelsea boots last year and completely fell in love with them, so its time to go out leaf crunching in these beauties!

Tomato soup

As soon as the weather starts to get cooler, I ditch my lunchbox in exchange for my microwaveable soup mug and start buying Heinz Cream of Tomato in bulk..

Carving pumpkins

While I wouldn’t consider myself as Halloween’s biggest fan, I do love carving pumpkins – last year I did four!

Running conditions

I HATE running through the summer, but autumn has just the right combination of cool breezes and sunshine and as long as the rain stays at bay I’m a happy runner!

Christmas creeping up!

I know most people hate how early Christmas appears in the shops, but Christmas is truly my favourite time of year and it gets me so so soo excited!

What’s your favourite thing about Autumn?

Five Things You’re Doing Wrong in the Gym

The gym. I don’t need to explain it, you know why you go there – or don’t, in some people’s case.. But whether you’re a fitness freak or a workout whenever kinda person, there are some mistakes that you could make if you’re not careful..

Shirt from The Happiest Fitness Co

Shirt from The Happiest Fitness Co

Copying other people

Sure, its great looking around for inspiration; maybe you’ve never seen someone do goblet squats before and that’s something you’d be interested in, but go away, do a little bit of research, look into the correct method and then come back and start rocking it. Don’t just see someone doing something strange and unknown, and try and replicate it – you could get injured by doing something wrong.

Feeling pain

There’s a difference between feeling the burn and experiencing actual pain, and only the former is a good sign. When you’re muscles are starting to ache and fatigue, you’ll be getting that familiar warm sensation that isn’t exactly comfortable, but that should go away within a few minutes of stopping. There’s also nothing wrong with aching the following day, or after a few hours, but if you’re walking away from a workout and are still feeling a lot of pain in your body, you’ve overdone it.

Not taking on fluid

Everyone sweats. Its no big deal, especially in the gym, but you need to be replacing the water that your body is loosing swiftly to keep it functioning at its best. If you’re just sweaty, try and stick to water; if you’re also needing to take on some fuel, an isotonic sports drink might be better.

Judging other gym users

This is my absolute biggest gym peeve, and it happens in so many different ways. Laughing at overweight people? They’re still working out aren’t they? Staring at the gorgeous blonde in the sports bra and short shorts? She doesn’t come to the gym so you can wink at her from the corner of the free weights area.. Girls can lift, guys can lift, whatever – getting fit is not a competition so what is the point of putting down everyone around you?

Keeping clean

Be a team player – carry a towel and wipe down your equipment after you use it. Its courteous, and its hygienic; not doing so is the gym equivalent of wearing bowling shoes that haven’t been sprayed between wearers. Yuck.

Are you guilty of any of these?

My Disneyland Paris Bucket List

I have a fairly extensive Disney Bucket List, but the majority of the items on that list aren’t park specific, and those that are tend to be more WDW based, but now I’m a Disneyland Paris annual pass holder, I’ve been thinking more about all the things I’d love to do in my local park, and we all know I love a bucket list!

Disneyland Paris Spring 2016

Dine at Auberge de Cendrillon

Meet all the princesses in Princess Pavilion

Attend the Halloween Soiree

Stay in the Disneyland Hotel

Take an empty Main Street USA photo

Go to an Inventions brunch

Visit the parks around Christmas to see the decorations

Spend a whole day character spotting

Fly on PanoraMagique

Ride It’s a Small World – I haven’t done the one at DLP since I was a kid!

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show!

See Mickey and the Magician

Ride RC Racer in Toy Story Land

Meet the penguins from Mary Poppins!

 Race at a RunDisney event

Go to an AP holder event

.. and I’m still looking for more ideas to add to the list!

Guest Post – Top 5 Summer Films

Today’s post is brought to you by the lovely Llinos from The Lilac Linnet, go check out her blog for more – I even featured in one, read it here!

It’s definitely summer now, despite all the rain, and on a lovely light evening you may be looking for a good film to watch while you enjoy some ice cream.  Here are my top picks of some films to watch over summer.

Date Night

This is one of my favourite ever films EVER.  I love Tina Fey and this film has it all for me.  It’s such a fast moving plot about a couple who take another couple’s table reservation in a swanky new restaurant, and the crazy stuff that happens to them after that!  There’s a lot of action and humour, I can’t recommend it enough.

Clueless

Ladies, do I need to say anything about this one?  It’s a loose adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma and is just so pink and kitcsh that it’s ideal to watch on a summer evening.  Tell me you didn’t lust after Alicia Silverstone’s wardrobe!

Erin Brockovich

This film is so uplifting, all about the power of one woman and a small company against a huge corporation and it is just KICK ASS.  I can’t watch it without crying.  If you want to be inspired, go for this one.

Mona Lisa Smile

Another Julia Roberts pick, this is about a girls school where the pupils have been raised to be wives and mothers and nothing else.  That all changes when their new teacher arrives.  It’s quite an emotional ride with some great acting, a brill one to watch with the girls this summer.

The Duchess

I am a big history geek and I could not write this list without featuring a full on period drama, with swoonworthy costumes and an emotional rollercoaster of a plot… Georgiana Spencer marries the Duke of Devonshire, but it is a loveless match and he moves his mistress into their home.  It’s definitely one to watch with the girls and a box of tissues.

Adult Things I’m Actually Good At

Three years ago I left sixth form with a handful of A-Levels, the memories of my GCSEs, and a brain full of crazy ideas for what my life was going to be like now I was a proper grown-up throwing myself into the adult world.

Kikki K Planner

Well we all know that nothing can prepare you for that, right?

Sure I could write essays on psychology studies and perform a perfect chemical titration, but if you’d asked me mortgages work I would have quickly hidden behind a pile of stuffed toys and declared I was never growing up EVER.

Ok, so I’m still not 100% certain on some things, but recently I have been feeling like a slightly more competent adult, having become pretty good at a few important things.

Budgeting and Saving

This is something I’d consider to be one of my greatest skills; very rarely do I find myself scraping payday to payday, and when I do its probably because I’m saving for something super important. Generally speaking, if I want something, I will do whatever it takes to make it work, whether it be working 40+ hours or putting myself on a total spending ban.

Paying off my credit cards

So having three credit cards really makes me feel like an adult; its a little scary. Admittedly, two of them are joint, so I only really have two different accounts, but in over a year I have never missed a payment or amounted any interest that could negatively affect my credit score.

Food shopping

I like to think I’m pretty good at doing the food shop; I generally think in meals rather than just food, and my love of writing lists really comes in handy! Plus, being prepared tends to prevent panic buying and overspending.

Making appointments

Dentist, opticians, car MOT, chiropractor.. I like to make sure I’ve got everything booked in with plenty of advance warning!

Having a phone voice

While most people, including myself, dread phone calls from unknown numbers, I’ve always been pretty good at the polite phone voice that adults put on. My particular favourite is when someone asks to speak to *insert name here* and the response is ‘speaking!’.

Buying homeware

Ok so I still live at home but that doesn’t mean I don’t love going to IKEA or spending hours on Pinterest thinking about my future living space..

Are you good at being a grown up?

Long Distance Travel Must-Haves!

Its less than 10 days now until I leave for my trip to China, and being the uber-organised person that I am, I’m practically packed already!

Yes, I know it sounds a bit crazy, but getting stuff together early highlights any issues – clothes that need washing, discovering something has a hole in it etc – so you don’t have to rush around the night before your flight!

I’m also a bit of a packing pro; having been lucky enough for travelling to always be a big part of my life, I’ve learnt from many mistakes and gained a lot of wisdom over the years, and I’ve found especially for long distance holidays, there’s always a few key things that make the cut for every trip.

Long Distance Travel Must Haves

A super comfy romper

If I know I’ll be boarding a long haul flight, this is an absolute must. I can be a real fidget on flight, especially when I’m trying to sleep, so not having to worry about pulling things up, down and round while I move is ideal, and wearing something a bit baggy means I don’t overheat or freeze. Also, whether its a playsuit or a jumpsuit, you’ll generally find it pretty easy to adapt to difference climates depending on where you’re jetting off to!

This year, I’m wearing this Stitch & Pieces beauty!

Sunglasses

Would you believe that until 2014, I never ever wore sunglasses.. Four-eyes problems right? I finally decided to spring for a pair of nice prescription Ray-Bans for a trip to Florida, and its probably the best decision I ever made; I mean, its easy to pick up a pair of sunglasses anywhere, but not so easy if you’re blind as a bat like I am! Even if you’re unsure on the weather where you’re headed, it can’t hurt to be prepared!

Basic First Aid and Personal Products

We’ve all got our preferences when it comes to this sort of thing, so I’m not gonna give you a full run down on what I bring, but its always worth bringing your essentials, should you need them for any reason – painkillers, antihistamines, creams etc – and although they’re not hard to find in local pharmacies, I always bring plasters and blister plasters.

Girls, also don’t forget to do your period maths before your trip; I know we don’t like to think about it, but what’s worse: having to pack a handful of tampons or being caught out abroad?

Socks

This is something that I’ve learnt from my dad: you can never have too many pairs of socks. My sister and I used to resist this, but as we’ve got older and wiser, we’ve realised he really does know best! Yes, I know sometimes sandals and flip flops seem like the best footwear, but comfortable shoes and socks will always win out – I’m a Converse All-Star kinda gal!

Hairbands

Waist-length hair does not always travel well! Generally I’ll always have a hairband on my wrist, with about a million more in my suitcase, including scrunchies and headbands, so that I can get my hair out of my face for travelling, and also keep it under control should the climate be against it!

Is there anything you can’t travel without?

21st Century Random Acts of Kindness

Remember the good old days when letting a mother with a small child go in front of you in the queue for public toilets, or drunkenly telling another drunk girl how pretty she looks was considered the nicest thing you could do in a day?

Well, they’re still pretty nice things to do, and you absolutely shouldn’t stop doing stuff like that, but with our lives so often revolving around technology and its development, our everyday acts of kindness are a little different now, and here are a few that you can do!

Random Acts of Kindness

Send someone a bunch of motivational emojis

Next time you see a tweet about having a long day or being stuck in retail on a bank holiday Monday, throw a few colourful hearts and party popper emojis their way, maybe even a bulging bicep. Why not add a cat gif too?

Donate to a crowdfunding page

Whether its a charitable cause or a start-up business, why not give a couple of quid? You get to be the mysterious philanthropist, and someone else gets a step closer to something great

Offer to be the designated driver

Save yourself the taxi fare from hell and spend a night drinking diet coke while your friends are on their fifth round of shots. You’ll earn infinite friend points and better still: no hangover!

Switch your phone off around company

Whether you’re on a date or just hanging with friends, put your phone on silent, put it away and enjoy the company you’re with (and hope they do the same!)

Offer to sign for a parcel for a neighbour

We all know that feeling when you’re at work and DPD have text to say they’ll be delivering your parcel between 10:43 and 11:43, and there’s just no way to split yourself in half to get home for it, so next time Carl pitches up with next door’s ASOS parcel and has no luck at the door, be a good egg and offer to take it in for them and drop it in when they get back.

Go on an Instagram like spree

No, not the kind of spam you do to try and get someone to notice and follow you, just don’t be afraid to double tap as you scroll through your feed in the morning

Offer your carpark ticket to someone

There’s nothing better than walking up to the meter and being approached by someone paid for way more time than they needed – hello two hours free! Be that person.

Let someone use your student discount code

My Twitter feed always has at least one ‘anyone got a student discount I can borrow PLEASE’ tweet on it at any given time. Now I’m not saying go nuts and throw it around like confetti, but maybe if you see a friend in need and can help, make their day!

And to finish off, here’s just a handful of some of the kindest bloggers I know:

Drop me a comment to share some of the kindest people you know!

Beach Days Wishlist

Beach Day Ready Wishlist

I dunno about anyone else, but I am so ready for summer to properly start!

I mean, I know that strictly speaking we are officially in summer now, but no one seems to have CC’ed the weather in on that information and I just want the sun to come out to play, especially with one of the UK’s best beaches just a short walk from my house!

If you read my Summer Bucket List, you’ll have seen the first point was getting my girls down to Bournemouth for a good old fashioned day at the beach, fish and chips and ice-cream not optional, and my desperation for this to happen has inspired a classic Wednesday wishlist of fun beachy bits and bobs!

First up is a bit of a cheat because I’ve bought it second hand from a friend of mine, but seriously how cute is this Hello Kitty Instax?! I’ve been going back and forth a bit with the idea of getting a little one, and I couldn’t resist this for beach days as well as my trip to China next month! And along the tech lines, I think this beach radio from Sunnylife is amazing, and I love that you can connect your phone or mp3 player and use it as speakers.

Next up: beach activities! A donut frisbee? Yes please! I mean, I’ve got no hand/eye coordination for throwing and catching, but I think a donut would motivate me to try at least! Once you’re exhausted from all the throwing and running around, food is next on the agenda, kept cool in this multicoloured beauty of a cool bag from Bando.

Now I already have too many swimsuits, but that doesn’t stop me from checking the Asos sale every now and then anyway.. I’m a sucker for an usual design, and this v-shaped ombre beauty is gorgeous! I’m also absolutely obsessed with Spectrum brushes right now, and I’ve got my eye on two different sets: the 10 piece essentials and Siren Smoke eye brushes; I mean, they’re basically meant for mermaids right?!

What are your beach trip essentials?

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Dads

I know last week I announced that I was cutting back on this series, but this is a good one!

With Father’s Day just two days away, I’ve put myself to the difficult task of choosing Disney favourites – a task I never enjoy – to share some of the amazing dads that grace our screens.

1. Marlin

Battled sharks, met a sea turtle, took on the jellies, crossed an ocean.. Not bad, Marlin, not bad..

2. Mr Incredible

As well as being quite literally a superdad, Mr Incredible did whatever it took for his family, even if it meant years working in a cubicle so they could have a normal life.

3. Mufasa

Who doesn’t cry when Mufasa dies?! I know its not that scene that makes him a great dad, but still.

4. Maurice

While he doesn’t seem overly heroic or brave, Maurice never let the doubts and jokes of the villagers get to him, and raised Belle to be just as free-thinking and strong minded

5. James

We see Tiana’s dad for such a short time in the film, but his legacy is clear throughout.

And while we’re here, my dad is pretty cool too:

Summer 2016 Bucket List

One thing about not being at school anymore (I mean, its only been 3 years..) is that I don’t have a proper defined ‘summer’ anymore. Having 6-8 weeks set aside for me to do summer things every year made planning so much easier, but now I’m in the grown-up world, I have to squeeze fun in between shifts and other commitments.

Summer Bucket List

I do love a good bucket list though, and other than my job getting in the way, I really hope I can tick as many things off this list as I can by September!

  • Get my Disney girls to Bournemouth for a beach day – I’ve been promising to organise something, and I plan to see it through!
  • Visit more of the UK – there are so many places I’d love to see, and now I’m such a confident driver it seems like the perfect time!
  • Read more – I’ve got a reading list as long as my arm, and I’ve hardly touched it..
  • Spend time with my friends who have been away at uni – some of my friends I haven’t seen in 2/3 years, and with everyone graduating soon, we’re due a good catch up.
  • See as much of Bournemouth Air Festival as I can – I missed all of it because of work last year, waa
  • Have a picnic in the New Forest – sometimes I forget that I have such a beautiful countryside right on my doorstep!
  • Do more blogging from the garden – I’ve written some of my favourite posts in the sunshine, and hello Vitamin D!
  • Go back to Oxygen Freejumping – I had such a blast at the Airborne Fitness class, I’m dying to get back there for a fun bounce!
  • Go camping (even if its just a night!) – I have such a cute tent, it seems a shame to not use it!
  • Swim in the sea – I’m ashamed to say I normally just paddle..
  • Go to an outdoor cinema – we’ve just got one in Bournemouth, although I’d love to get to a Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House!
  • Beach yoga – you know, the sort you’d do at 5am when no one else is around to see you looking like an idiot..
  • Ride my bike – I’m a little terrified of riding my bike on the roads (I’m super clumsy) but it would be nice to get it out of the garage
  • Go to Moors Valley and do Go Ape – I used to love high ropes, but its been such a long time since I’ve been there!
  • Visit the penguins at Bournemouth Oceanarium – PENGUINS
  • Visit Warner Brothers Studios London – I went in the first year it opened, but so much has been added now and I’m craving butterbeer!
  • Watch fireworks – I mean, it’ll hardly be Wishes at WDW, but fireworks are a mandatory summer activity, right?
  • Find a new job – I’d really love to find a more fulfilling job, retail is crushing my soul a little
  • Make my own ice-cream – I’ve only done this once before and it didn’t go too well, so here’s to round 2!
  • Go on a first date – when I originally planned this post, this point was meant to be ‘go on a second date’, but life got in the way a little bit last week and the first date had to be reschuduled, and because I know the guy in question will be reading this, I wanna make him sweat just a little bit over when it’ll actually happen 😉

As well as work, I’ve obviously also got to fit all of this around my China/Hong Kong trip next month (eeek!), but I think I stand a pretty good chance, and I love a challenge! Do you think I can do it?

What’s on your summer bucket list?

FRIENDS Quotes That Are True To My Life

We all love FRIENDS, right?

I think a big part of the beauty of the show is that, despite the fact that its a totally made up story and no one in New York lives their lives like that, we all feel like the characters are living out big moments in our lives, and we can 100% relate to them. Well, this might be just me, but here are some quotes that hit the mark bang on..

‘I’m not good at advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?’

Unlike Chandler, I can give advice, but I’m much better at the sarcasm

‘Joey doesn’t share food’

Neither does Lottie..

‘I was so focused on being mad at you, I forgot what I was mad about’

I don’t think I’m the only person who’s been guilty of this before, am I?

‘Well maybe I got a little upset, and maybe I told them where they could go’

Working in retail, it’s a real struggle sometimes to make sure I only do this in my head..

‘No uterus, no opinion’

I’m the only girl in my team at work, and the guys never get it.

‘Welcome to the real world, it sucks! You’re gonna love it’

I went straight from school into the real world after choosing the non-university path of life, so I’m looking forward to my friends graduating this year and getting thrown in the deep end!

‘Oh I wish I could, but I don’t want to’

Me every time someone suggests a night out. How about sleep instead?

‘I make jokes when I’m uncomfortable’

Guilty..

This is only a handful of some of the golden lines from the show that I relate to WAY too much, but I’m sure we’ve all got some, haven’t we?

What are your favourites?

My Spring Disneyland Paris Bucket List

Its 20 days until I’ll be getting on the Eurostar and zooming to Paris for a quick few days in Disneyland Paris with some of my lovely Twitter friends, eek!

SONY DSC

Its my first time (as an adult at least) visiting DLP during Spring, and I’ve heard from so many people how magical the season is in the parks, so there are lots of things I’m hoping to do and see on this trip..

Forest of Enchantment

I’ve been so good at avoiding vlogs, Periscopes and basically any form of spoiler about this show so I can enjoy it properly when we’re out there. Just knowing that it includes Tangled, Tarzan and Pocahontas has got me fangirling!

Minnie’s Spring Train

Minnie Mouse, bunnies and Disney music = yay!

Go to Princess Pavilion

I improved my character interactions so much on my January trip, so I can’t wait to meet some more princesses and have a magical time!

Meet characters in Spring costumes

I’m really hoping to meet at least one character in their beautiful bright Spring outfits, they’re so gorgeous!

‘It’s a Small World’

Total guilty pleasure of mine, but it was closed during my birthday trip for refurb, so I definitely need one ride or 100 to get my fix.

Extra Magic Hours

I’m going to be getting my annual pass on this trip, and I can’t wait to enjoy extra time in the parks in the mornings with my girls!

Have you ever been to Disneyland Paris during Spring?

5 Things All Girls Wish We Could Do

Who run the world? Queen Bey knows how it is.

Now we all know there’s no inferior sex in today’s world, but that doesn’t mean there’s not a few things we fantasise about being able to do..

1. Flick our hair like a Disney princess

You know, without taking someone out/getting a strand stuck to your lipstick/ending up in a backcombed mess, and having it fall back perfectly.

2. Pick a lock with a hair pin

We’ve all tried it, right? Spy movies have set the bar WAY too high.

3. Apply liquid eyeliner perfectly in a moving vehicle

I once witnessed a girl doing this, it was incredible.

4. Pee standing up

No more awkward squatting when we’re caught short in the middle of nowhere? Yes please.

5. Eat pizza everyday and still look like a Victoria Secret model

We want stuffed crust, not stuff jeans..

What’s on your list?

Friday Favourite Five – April Fool’s Pranks

I wish I was funny enough to pull off an awesome April Fool’s day trick, but a) I struggle with not giggling and b) I’m usually the one falling for them. Waa.

But every year we all fall for some huge joke from our favourite big brands, and so I’m gonna share my top 5 from previous years!

1. Pizza Hut’s ‘Just Crust’ pizza

I think we all kinda wished this happened for real, but as the name suggests, Pizza Hut announced they would be releasing a pizza with no sauce, toppings, or even a centre. Yep, just crust..

2. Macmillan Green River Thames

To raise awareness for the cancer support charity, photos were released of the River Thames in a fairly lurid shade of green, and to be honest, I believed it for just a second.

3. Google Rickrolling us all back in 2008

That time every Youtube video linked up to the music video for ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ by Rick Astley and we all hated it. Just think, if they’d done that this/last year, vloggers everywhere would be loosing their minds..

4. Burger King perfume

The Japanese can be nutty at times, but I don’t think anyone would be mad enough to fall for a flame-grilled fragrance?

5. ASOS clip on man-bun

I don’t think this needs words..

Have you been pranked today?

Another Fitness Wishlist

Its been a little while since I shared a wishlist with you, and you know they basically go one of two ways: Disney or fitness. Today is the latter!

Keeping fit is such a huge part of my life now, and I’m forever looking for new ways to stay motivated, whether it be new workout clothes, adding something new and different to my routine or finding some great new healthy recipes, and I’ve found myself once again making lists of things to blow my hard-earned cash on..

Wishlist

I love how colourful this one is too!

So first up we’ve for the Eco Yoga Towel from Yoga Design Lab, which is so beautiful and bright I fell in love! I know its not a proper yoga mat, but I’ve got one of them and I think this would be great to take down to the beach in the summer and I miss doing yoga so I think a new toy will get my butt back into gear with my inner self.

How cute is this pastel foam roller and band set from Tone It Up? You might be familiar with their Youtube workouts, but they also sell cute fitness gear! I’ve been thinking about getting my own foam roller for a while now, and this mint/coral combo is perfect! Another recovery item, after having issues with my knee for a few months now, I’m looking to get a trigger point massage stick in the near future.

Ok, another fitness craze that I’m kinda wanting to get into is the weighted hula hoop. Now I’ve always been awful at hula hooping, but I still wanna try it and I think this multi-coloured hoop is the prettiest!

A relatively new fitness brand to the scene, Pink Soda clothing is available from JD Sports, and I’m crushing on this mint/black reversible sports bra big time! Rounding out this wishlist, I’m a real sucker for a cookbook, and Get the Glow by Madeleine Shaw looks like its going to be packed with healthy, wholesome foodie goodness.

Are you gearing up for a summer of fitness fun? Don’t forget to follow my #YearOfFit series!

My Disney Confessions

Jumping on the Disney blogger bandwagon of confessing some of my more shameful secrets for my fellow fangirls in the hopes they don’t disown me and make me give back my Mickey ears..

SONY DSC

I’ll start with just 10, and see if I’m still standing once this is all over, ha!

1. I don’t like Dole Whip – in fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever had one!

2. I really don’t see the point or appeal of collecting pins. Trading is kinda cool, but they’re so much money and they really serve no purpose..

3. Although I’ve done it before, I would never choose to stay offsite unless I was really broke. I just like being fully surrounded by the magic.

4. I’d rather be alone in the parks than drag around people who don’t want to be there. Embrace the magic y’all!

5. I’d rather watch parades than fireworks.

6. I hate it when Disney release merchandise WAY before a film comes out, and purposefully will not buy any until I’ve seen the film. I’m looking at you, Tsum Tsums..

7. I wish I could do Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach, but I know I’ll never have the nerve to do it!

8. I like Haunted Mansion, but I don’t get why so many people are obsessed with it. I guess I just don’t like spooky things..

9. I don’t see the appeal of Gaston – I mean I’d like to meet him one day, but I won’t queue for ages or fangirl over him.

10. Although they’re great in Florida heat, I don’t think I could ever spend an entire day at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. It just feels like a waste of a day..

Ok well that’s me.. What are your confessions?

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Mums

If you didn’t already realise, you better get yourself down to the florist/Lush/Thorntons today because its Mothers Day this Sunday!

Behind every strong person is an awesome mum, and the same is true for all of our favourite Disney characters, so today, in honour of awesome mums everywhere, here are my favourite Disney mums!

1. Mary Darling

A mother who encourages her kids to stay young at heart is great in my books!

2. Duchess

Managing three kittens with elegance while also finding your way back home, we salute you, Duchess!

3. Queen Elinor

With a lot of Disney princesses growing up without a mother, Elinor stands out for coping so well with being a queen and a mother, oh, and a bear at times.

4. Perdita

101 Dalmatians was one of my favourite Disney films as a child, and Perdy and Pongo make such a fab parenting team.

5. Elastigirl/Mrs Incredible

Lets just say its a good job she’s elastic, cos she holds together a pretty super family!

But my favourite Disney mum of all time? Mine. (I’m cute right?)

8 Things Becoming A Runner Will Change Your Outlook On

In 2015, I took on the official title of ‘runner’ as I spent the year training to go from total novice to half marathon distances.

Now I’m by no means a professional, or the fastest, or an expert, but I am a runner nonetheless, and I’ve said it a good few times now: we’re a strange breed. Once you start taking your training seriously, you suddenly find your views and feelings on certain

1. Injuries – for normal people, a sprained ankle or bad back are an inconvience, sure, but for a runner, every little injury is a total disaster. Suddenly you’re filled with thoughts like ‘how many runs will I have to miss?’, ‘this will totally blow my training schedule’ and ‘oh God, what if I can never run again?!’; its basically the end of the world until you recover a few days later.

2. Bad weather – heavy rain, gale force winds, sub zero temperatures? Quite frankly there could be an earthquake and you’d still be considering ‘just a quick one’. I mean, once you’re wet, you’re wet, you might as well keep on running, right?

(Once you’ve run a Tough Mudder event, you know you’ll never be as cold and wet as you were coming out of Arctic Enema so rain worries become obsolete)

3. New shoes – shoe shopping is fun, yes? Um, no. Choosing a new pair of trainers opens up a whole can of worms: are they supportive, are they too cushioned/not cushioned enough, do you like the colour, have you worn this brand/model before, will they rub, I could go on..

You also hate throwing out your old faithful running shoes because you’ve gone through so much together.

4. Fibre – we all know fibre is good for us, but a big fibre-filled breakfast before a long run is an absolute no go, unless you want to lose valuable time in a port-a-potty or searching for a bush to squat behind.. Save your fibre for rest days.

5. Cold showers – suddenly the thought of jumping into an ice bath can sometimes be the best idea EVER. You’re not crazy, you’re a runner..

6. Medals and t-shirts – when you signed up for your first 10k, you didn’t really care all too much about that finisher medal or unisex performance top that was included in sign up, but now you basically decide whether or not a race is worthy of your time based on the standard of the medal/t-shirt; you can run that distance anytime, anywhere, so why should you fork out cash for the privilege if the goodies aren’t up to scratch?

7. Summer – we wait forever for summer to come around, but once its upon us, we quickly remember that we hate running in the daytime, and suddenly it’s a mission to rework your training times around the sun’s movement, and that’s before having to think about extra hydration, chaffing etc..

8. Runners – yep, now you’re a part of this community, you’ve left all your previous misconceptions about runners at the door. Every runner is still getting out there and doing it, we don’t judge each other. We smile and greet each other as our paths cross, we share race stories and training tips, and if you don’t get on with someone? Well you can just trip them up..

So now, want to become a runner?

Why Disneyland’s Cars Land is Perfect

I remember going to see Cars in the cinema. Sure, I was 11 at the time so its not an amazing feat that I can remember it, but I still think it counts for something that I remember it so well.

A lot of people really don’t seem to like Cars, and I don’t really get it. I mean, I guess it was aimed a lot more at boys, and maybe the storyline isn’t Pixar’s finest, but what still amazes me to this day is how, now almost 10 years old, the animation is flawless; the reflection of light off the cars, the feel of the speed and the depth of the surroundings, to me its all just seamless.

DSC09898

Disneyland opened Cars Land in its California Adventure park in 2012, and when I discovered its beauty through various Instagram accounts, I became more and more amazed by it, and so it was probably my most anticipated part of our visit in January. I was not disappointed..

It is 100% accurate

DSC09910

The road is set out exactly how it is in the film. In fact, Disney are so confident in this that if you visit Sarge’s, there is actually a model Radiator Springs, and I bet you can’t spot any discrepancies!

The Cozy Cone Motel

DSC00029

The film really doesn’t go into too much detail about the Cozy Cone other than its exterior, which Imagineers got down to the cone water feature on the front lawn and the car bulb flowers, but they even went above and beyond on the interiors! Well, each surrounding cone is a food kiosk, but the reception building is laid out just as you’d expect at any motel, complete with postcards and cone-y (get it, corny, cone-y.. Please laugh) souvenirs.

The cars really drive and really talk

DSC09993

Not only can you meet the stars of the films, but they actually drive through the streets and interact – with guests as well as each other! You can meet Lightning McQueen, Mater, and more on rotation outside the Cozy Cone Motel.

The third flash is longer

DSC09991

If you’ve seen the film, you’ll know that as a solitary town, the traffic light is on a constant amber warning flash, and hippy van Fillmore has a theory that the third flash is always longer. Well, I can vouch for that!

Radiator Springs Racers is flawless

DSC09916

The big-ticket ride of the land, Racers is very similar to WDW’s Test Track. Board a car through the beautiful canyons before you visit the town itself, complete with the most perfect audio-animatronic characters – their words and actions are just as if you stepped into the film! After you’ve driven through the town and cow-tipped with Mater, you might get your tyres done at Luigi’s or a paint spray at Ramone’s before lining up with another car of guests and racing back through the Springs to a photo-finish. I’m not sure I’m doing it justice, but its just wow.

There’s some AMAZING food on offer

DSC09972

This is a Bacon Mac’n’Cheese Bread Cone. I’m just gonna leave this here..

The lights are just magical

DSC00037

You know how Sally feels about the return of the neons in the film? YOU FEEL IT. The lights turn on at dusk every day, and the darker the sky gets, the more beautiful the street does. It really just brings the road to life, just as it does in the film. Also, just as there are a few minor imperfections in the film’s neons, you’ll find them in Cars Land.

Ok, I could go on and on and share photo after photo (which I probably will on Instagram), but whether you’re a Cars fan or not I’d happily bet you’d still be amazed by it!

What do you think?

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Love Scenes

I doubt anyone needs remind what day it is on Sunday, do they?

For me, Valentines Day is a total nothing of a day, and no, its not because I’m single. I genuinely have no feelings towards the day, positive or negative, whether I’m single or not; it all just seems pointless to me..

What I do love, however, is a good Disney love scene, so here are my faves!

1. Tangled Boat

2. Lady and the Tramp Spaghetti and Meatballs

3. A Magic Carpet Ride

4. Ella and Kit’s First Dance

5. Once Upon A Dream

What’s your favourite?

Friday Favourite Five – Winter Hats

Another Friday has rolled around, although after a week of being back at work properly its felt like forever since last Friday..

I’m really not enjoying this cold weather. I think because October-December was so mild, I didn’t get used to the cold before going away, and now I’ve been thrown into it since getting home, I’ve had no time to adjust or grow my winter wardrobe.

What I do love about this time of year though is winter hats. I like all sorts of hats really, but winter is the only time I really make the effort to wear them, probably because its more of a necessity than anything else! And thus..

1. The good ol’ fashioned beanie, but yellow, cos y’know..

SONY DSC

2. BAYMAX BEANIE

SONY DSC

3. This cutesy little Children In Need Pudsey hat

SONY DSC

4. Mickey Mouse pom-poms!

SONY DSC

5. In case a beanie is a little understated and I need full blown Minnie Mouse style..

SONY DSC

Are you a hat person?

My Christmas Haul!

Well happy Boxing Day everyone! Did we all have a lovely day yesterday?!

Christmas is my absolute favourite day of the year, so when its all over its always a little sad, but Boxing Day is still a good day as (well at least for our family) its the day you get to collect all your presents together and admire them, and it always makes me feel incredibly grateful for my amazing family!

But you guys want to know what I got, right?

SONY DSC

Quite the pile, right? I’ve been super lucky!

SONY DSC

If you read my Christmas wishlist post, you’ll see some familiar items!

SONY DSC

A rock cushion? Nope, its my new little troll friend in his alternative form, and I love it! I can’t wait to use him as a travel pillow when we go to Disney next month!

SONY DSC

INFLATABLE BAYMAX (he’s a bath pillow really)

SONY DSC

At first I thought I was above the trend, but actually I fell in love with adult colouring books, and I got three!

SONY DSC

Peanut butter. Nuff said.

SONY DSC

There’s a little pile of Lush goodies there, and some amazing Finding Nemo pyjamas, as well as Maximus and a Nanoblock Neuschwanstein.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

A late addition to my Christmas list was the Magnitone Barefaced, and I’m really excited to start using it, my skin needs some major TLC in 2016! It came with a cute little travel pouch, and because Mum ordered it from FeelUnique, while they were running a promotion, I also got a free shower holder for it!

SONY DSC

And the present that I genuinely squealed opening: this adorable Minnie Mouse hat which my sister had bought (without my knowing!) in Disneyland Paris in October! I had been regretting not buying it while we were out there, and I haven’t really taken it off since!

There’s a few bits from Fabletics (which I picked out in the Black Friday sale, ha!), add a few little stocking fillers, chocolate etc and that’s my haul!

What did you get for Christmas?

xoxo

Friday Favourite Five: Tastes of Christmas

Aside from the joy of giving and all that jazz, Christmas is about stuffing yourself with food until you feel like you’re going to burst, then falling asleep, waking up the next morning and doing it all over again!

With that in mind, here are the foods that always bring me back to festive memories:

1. Orange and Lemon Slices

Yep, those little jelly sweets that you can probably get all year round, but in our house they’re Christmas tradition – as is fighting over the middle bit!

2. Costa hot chocolate

Yes, I’m gutted that the seasonal flavours aren’t as good this year, but a plain old Costa hot chocolate is still a perfect treat on cold days out Christmas shopping.

3. After Eights

I’m not a dark chocolate person in the slightest, but can anyone ever resist an After Eight at this time of year? PS they normally taste better before 8pm.

4. Peppermint everything

Whether its my peppermint Eos balm, or sucking on a candy cane, peppermint is a Christmas staple!

5. Buck’s Fizz!

Now I’m really not big on champagne, or orange juice really for that matter, but you can’t start a Christmas party, or Christmas morning, without a glass of this bubbly stuff!

What are your favourite Christmas treats?

xoxo

My Christmas Wishlist

If it isn’t already abundantly clear, I love Christmas. Well, who doesn’t really?!

And in these modern times, I’m sure Santa spends more time checking blog wishlists than he does reading physical letters! So here’s mine:

xmas list 2015

1. Reversible Troll soft toy from The Disney Store

I’m totally obsessed with this little guy, I think he’d make the best travel pillow for my trip in January!

2. Lets Do Lunch business card holder from Kate Spade

Simple and elegant, this makes my inner business-woman very happy!

3. Duff Bakes cookbook from Amazon, among other sellers

Ever since the first time I watched an episode of Ace of Cakes, I have worshipped Duff, and now he’s released a book, I need it in my life!

4. Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar from Lush

I love Lush, but as I’m not a bath person, its their haircare and shower products that do it for me! I had a shampoo bar years back and loved it, so definitely up for trying another one.

5. Best Day Ever raglan shirt from Happily Ever Tees

I’ve discovered these guys on Instagram and I’m dying to wear this shirt in the parks in January!

6. Crown ring from Applelatte on Etsy

I’m a huge fan of this store on Etsy, they make amazingly pretty jewellery, and this ring in the rose gold colour is beautiful!

7. Funko Pop Maximus from Amazon, among other sellers

When the Tangled collection was released recently I rushed to get Rapunzel, so now I just need this little cutie!

8. Red Converse All Star High Tops

My shoe collection is pretty much 90% Converses, and I’m not even ashamed of that, so if Santa could bring me red high tops in a size 6, they’ll be much appreciated for my January Disney trip!

9. Sugar Daddy-O solid conditioner from Lush

Another hair product – I can’t live with dirty hair, and I like to believe maybe a solid conditioner will reduce the amount of bottles I get through!

Are you asking Father Christmas for anything special this year?

°o°

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Couples

The best kind of couples are Disney couples. They’re the couples that us mere humans strive to base our relationships on, just without the grand castles or evil villains!

And with basically every Disney film featuring a fabulous pairing, choosing my favourites was really hard, but here goes nothing!

1. Rapunzel and Flynn

I know, its no surprise that I’ve got these two on my list, you all know how much I love this film! Those relationship goals are real guys.

2. Eve and WALL-E

This film is totally underrated, but how can you not see these guys are adorable? I mean, he travelled through space for her!

3. Ellie and Carl

A lifetime of true love in a short film opening, and gets us right in the feels!

4. Meg and Hercules

As a girl of sarcasm, Meg is fabulous in my eyes, and who can say that diving into a pool of dead souls to save the girl you love isn’t a big enough gesture?

And, without a doubt, the best Disney couple ever..

5. Mickey and Minnie

I don’t think I need to caption this. These guys = the best.

Do you have a favourite Disney couple?

Friday Favourite Five – Everyday Products

Well happy Friday everyone, we’ve made it through another week!

This week’s fave five focuses on those beauty products that you love so much that they’ve snuck into your everyday skincare routine without you even noticing – you know the ones, right?

Well here are mine:

1. Eos Smooth Sphere lip balms

SONY DSC

I actually own 7 of these, not even ashamed! I love the design, the flavours and that they’re 99% natural; I have one in my car, one at work, in my handbag etc, and my favourite is Blueberry Acai!

2. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter

SONY DSC

This stuff smells incredible, and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and smooth!

3. Vaseline Intensive Care hand cream

I actually stumbled across this sort of by accident one day when I needed a moisturiser for a burn that was scabbing, but now I’ve tried it I’m obsessed. It leaves my hands feeling really silky and moisturised, and also helps strengthen my nails, plus it doesn’t leave that sticky after-feeling

4. Nivea Daily Essentials Day Cream

SONY DSC

I’m quite lucky really, and don’t really suffer too much from dry skin, but I do tend to get it on my forehead, so just a light layer of this on my face each morning keeps me happy!

5. Dove Go Fresh Nourising Body Wash

SONY DSC

It might just be a shower gel, but the way it lathers up into a thick foam and actually leaves my skin feeling softer with every wash.

What are your daily go-to products?

xoxo

xoxo

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Mugs

Now I am a great anomaly: I don’t drink tea or coffee.

BUT, that doesn’t mean I don’t like mugs, and I’m fairly certain that a lot of cold drinks taste better when you drink them from a mug, and the cuter the mug, the better! So this week I’m sharing my five favourite mugs from my Disney collection:

1. Art of Aurora

SONY DSC

Sleeping Beauty was my favourite movie as a kid, and I love the artwork on this, and the little bird on the handle!

2. Wall-E and Eve

SONY DSC

Ok so this is two mugs, but they have to be together, right?

3. Stuck in the mug Pooh

SONY DSC

Despite the really simple outward appearance of this mug, how cute is little Pooh stuck on the inside? Also its a really big mug!

4. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel

SONY DSC

I picked this up during our stay at the hotel in July; I love the Victoria style artwork, it reflects the hotel perfectly!

5. Hamm

SONY DSC

When I saw this on the Disney Store website, I knew I had to have it, so when it sold out I was pretty gutted.. Until I stumbled across him on a trip to my local Disney Store!

Are you a bit of a mug collector like me?

#fitfordisney – A Fitness Lustlist

Happy, healthy Wednesday everyone, good day to you all!

Today I’ve put together what I like to call my fitness ‘lustlist’. Its sort of like a wishlist, except full of wonderfully expensive products that I could never justify spending the money on, and that’s ok, because I’m happy to admire them from a distance! Sure, if I won the lottery or something, they’d definitely be on my shopping list, but while I find them beautiful, I can live without them, I just thought it would be fun to share a few with you!

lustlist

First of all, there’s Rundies! Yes, as the name suggests, undies for running, kinda like day-of-the-week pants, but with different runs printed on them, cute right?! $65

Sweaty Betty is a fitness brand that prides itself with beautifully designed workout clothes, and the Chromo Run Tee (top centre) and Ultra Run Bra (bottom right) are no exceptions! £125 and £42

I’m also a sucker for a bit of Nike, which I think makes me a bit of a fitness snob, but hey ho! I’m not 100% sure why, but I kind of love the Pro Engineers Giraffe Training Tights (bottom left) and I love the colour and design of the Dri-Fit Knit Epic Crew Training Top! £50 and £47.99

We also know how much I love Fabletics, right? The Moorea Bra (centre) is such a nice change of design from regular sports bras, and comes in a few different colours too! £30 (or £22 for VIP)

And finally, despite my general favouritism for Nike running shoes, these Asics GT-1000 are such a lovely colour! £97

Quite a stunning selection right? Do you have a lustlist too?

xoxo

100 Days of Happy: 21-41

Doesn’t time fly on the run up to the end of the year?!

I can’t believe its been 3 weeks since I wrote my first update on my 100 days of happy challenge, and I’m ashamed to say that I’ve been slacking a little on the photo side recently, so to change things up a little, I’m just going to share some of the great things that have happened in these last few weeks that have kept a smile on my face!

• Halloween pumpkin carving!

• Catching up on Once Upon a Time, and starting a new Netflix addiction: Gossip Girl

• I’ve been back at my sewing machine running up some new creations, and toying once again with opening an Etsy shop

• Completing Blogtober, and my views are booming, yay!

• My Disney girls forever make me happy, and the initial success of my planned Secret Santa

• We hit another Disney countdown milestone, and are now under the 60 day mark!

• Storming ahead on my Christmas shopping (and being almost done, don’t hate me for being keen)

• Being past Halloween, I can properly get into the Christmas spirit, YAAYYY

So I’ll be continuing on my happy little challenge, and TRYING to remember to take and post more photos so that when I catch up with you next! In the meantime, keep smiling!

xoxo
