Friday Favourite Five – Cutie Handbags

I don’t think its much of a secret that I’m a bag addict..

Today I’m dipping into my collection to share a few of my slightly less practical but more adorable favourites!

Skinnydip Milk Carton

This one is so cute! Yes, its not always the most practical, but its shape actually means it can hold more than you might think! Also the top is magnetic, which is great.

Asos Party Ring shoulder bag

This is my go-to night out bag; big enough for my makeup, phone, keys and a small purse, and um, its a party ring!

Daisy Street Shell clutch

Another night out favorite of mine because its so sparkly! It also has a little wrist strap and is pretty roomy.

New Look Doughnut clutch

A doughnut the size of my face? Yes please!

Monki Watermelon clutch

Watermelon = summer to me, and I can’t wait to use this bagboy (no, not a typo) more when then sun comes out!

What do you think then, huh?

Working Wardrobe Dreams – The Little Black Dress

Believe it or not, I actually applied for an office job a few weeks ago.. But the interviews were last week and they didn’t even send me a polite rejection so that ends that one.

But you can never go wrong with a little black dress, right?

Who would argue with Coco Chanel, eh? Ask any fashion designer, writer, blogger or quite frankly female what they think is the ultimate wardrobe staple is, and I think you’ll find the answer is pretty unanimous. Its stylish, effortless (or at least looks it!) and its versatile. With minor tinkering – a change of shoes or bag, some killer jewellery etc – you can go from office chic to cocktails with the girls without batting an eyelid.

Tights and pumps make any of these dresses a cute and comfortable office-worthy outfit, but ditch the flats for some fancy heels and a pretty clutch and you’re ready for an evening of networking, whether it be professional or social! I’m not sure I can pick a favourite of these five, but as they’re all under £40, I don’t see any reason why I’d have to choose, ha!

How do you style up your LBD?

Working Wardrobe Dreams – The Coat

Ok, so this is a new little series for 2016, and it pretty much centres around the little part of me that secretly wishes I had a ‘boring’ office-based job that meant I could dress in super cute work outfits, rather than my current retail uniform. Bleurgh. Each month I’ll be focusing on a different wardrobe staple in a business girls arsenal, and today, given this chilly winter weather, its the coat!

Now I know that a coat isn’t exactly something you’d wear around the workplace, but in many cases its the first impression you could make on someone, whether you’re walking into their building or meeting over coffee, so its a perfect excuse to make sure yours is not just professional but also adorable!

Personally, I’m finding myself obsessed with the blue waterfall coat from Topshop; it just seems to hang so effortlessly! I’m also a real sucker for a classic mac, hence featuring Asos’s offering, and I love the wintery vibes from the RI belted cape.

Which is your favourite?

Clutch Loving

Any bag addicts in the house? *raises hand slowly*

I’ve always been a bag girl, going back as far as I can remember, and I’ve made a real effort in the last few years to clear out a lot of the collection I’ve hoarded since I was 11/12. With that in mind, I felt it only fair that, as an ‘adult’ now, I’m allowed to build up a slightly more grown-up collection of bags, and top of the list for ‘adult’ bags is the clutch.

While not practical for every occasion, a clutch is the perfect accessory for a night out, weekend stroll, lunch date; those times you just need somewhere to keep your phone and keys. The right clutch can make a good outfit great, and I’ve been building up a sweet little collection of them that are a little more ‘out there’..

A Mickey-inspired Winter Look

So I was out shopping with a girlfriend today, and as two, not-entirely-broke-but-on-a-budget girls, h&m is our haven. And that’s where I came across this little beauty of a beanie hat, and at the same time as completely falling in love with it, inspiration struck!

I know its still a little early to be thinking about really, but its time to start preparing your wardrobe for winter, so here’s a Mickey Mouse inspired look to get you started 🙂

Obviously you’re gonna be needing this hat:

Then there’s this sweet little swing dress from ASOS

But its cold, so don’t forget to wear tights! These are from Primark, and are also available on eBay

And a hint of red with these suede boots from Office

Just how sweet are these handmade fingerless gloves from Xasper8ing on Etsy?!

Disney Tights

In my opinion, trousers are overrated. If I could, I’d spend most days Donald Duck style (with underwear though, of course!), but unfortunately this isn’t socially acceptable in most places..

So I live in dresses, skirts and shorts, which means when the weather is bad, as it so often is in England, tights are my best friends! And while most people overlook them as functional but boring, I know that they can add to any outfit.
