Friday Favourite Five – Loyalty Cards

Everyone loves rewards, right? A little bit back when I spend? Um, yes please!

Well lucky for us, lots of big brands and retailers have noticed this, and you basically can’t go into a store without being offered some sort of loyalty or reward scheme – its the reason our purses have so many pockets these days!

So what cards am I forever pulling out of my purse?

1. Boots Advantage Card

Every girl has one of these, right? If you don’t, get one! You earn 4 points for every £1 you spend, plus the constant vouchers and offers to rack up that total, and points mean shopping! I love to be able to go into Boots with no cash, knowing I’ve got enough on my card for another lipstick to add to my collection.

2. Odeon Premiere Club

Hello free cinema tickets! With OPC, everything you buy in the cinema from tickets to popcorn earn you points which you can put towards future spending! I’ve had free tickets, free ice-cream, popcorn..

3. Tesco Clubcard

Whether you’re a regular Tesco shopper or not, its worth having one of these! Tesco Clubcard is known for having such an enormous range of vouchers available for you to convert your points into, even if you only fill up with petrol on occasion, you’ll find them adding up pretty quick.

4. Nando’s Card

Who doesn’t love Nando’s? The more you spend, the more chillies you can put towards free chicken!

5. Costa Coffee Club

Although I’m not a coffee drinker, my Costa card spends a lot of time going in and out of my purse and earning me points towards free drinks, so I think its a keeper!

Friday Favourite Five – Upcycling Products

While it may have lost a little bit of momentum after a huge upsurge a few years back, upcycling is still a really great way to transform something unloved into something fabulous, especially on a tight budget!

It doesn’t have to be a huge furniture project, it can be as small as just being a little crafty with everyday objects, and there are a tonne of great (and affordable!) products that can give you the Etsy-worthy edge!

1. Valspar Chrome Enamel spray paint

SONY DSC

I have a lot of love for spray enamel paint because it has such a good finish and is so easy to use, but the chrome effect from Valspar (exclusive to B&Q in the UK) is incredible! With just 1-2 coats you can give anything an almost mirror-effect shine.

2. Rustoleum Chalky Matt furniture paint

This Rustoleum paint is what I would describe as a classic shabby-chic furniture paint; its a budget equivalent of the well know Annie Sloan range, but still works really well. You can paint it on normally for a flat matt finish, or take some sandpaper to give it a worn-down effect

3. Glitter paint

Glitter paint comes in so many variations now – spray paint, regular brush-on, silver, gold, rainbow, I could go on.. You can use it to give a subtle shimmer to craft projects, or make it look like a unicorn threw up – totally up to you!

4. Ceramic paint pens

SONY DSC

Less upcycling and more crafty, but ceramic/porcelain pens are great for making personalised mugs, plates etc.. Because they’re in pen form, it makes them really easy for kids (and adults!) so hello perfect school holiday projects!

5. Dremel 3000 multi-tool

Ok, so this is more of an investment item, but if you love upcycling, I would 100% recommend you look into getting a Dremel. I’ve had my 3000 for two years now and I use it all the time for sanding, drilling, cutting and engraving, and there are so many attachments available, you could probably use it for anything! The cheapest Dremel model is about £25 and the 3000 is around £40-45 – well worth it if you’re a keen upcycler!

Have you been swept up in upcycling?

Friday Favourite Five – Scented Candle Brands

In classic blogger style, I’ve been obsessed with scented candles since I bought my first Vanilla Buttercream Yankee way back whenever.

Since that day, my poor bank account has had to suffer my need to fill my bedroom with amazing smells, and in classic Friday fashion, I’m gonna share my favourite candle brands today!

1. Yankee Candle

SONY DSC

Yankee Candle is the probably the most well-known candle brand in the UK and US, and with the enormous range of scents available, its no wonder why!

2. Maple and Whisky

SONY DSC

Maple and Whisky are a UK based company that handmade the most delicious Disney inspired soy candles and wax melts – I’m obsessed and not even sorry..

3. Lily Flame

SONY DSC

These adorable tin candles come in an incredible range of smells, I can’t wait to try more!

4. Jelly Belly

SONY DSC

Jelly Belly is such a fun brand, and my blueberry candle smells good enough to eat!

5. Ikea

SONY DSC

Curveball, but I almost never resist buying new candles when I go to Ikea because they’re such good value for money! They might not be as pretty and well packaged as ‘branded’ candles, but when you’re paying a fraction of the price, who really cares, right?

What’s your favourite candle scent?

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Mums

If you didn’t already realise, you better get yourself down to the florist/Lush/Thorntons today because its Mothers Day this Sunday!

Behind every strong person is an awesome mum, and the same is true for all of our favourite Disney characters, so today, in honour of awesome mums everywhere, here are my favourite Disney mums!

1. Mary Darling

A mother who encourages her kids to stay young at heart is great in my books!

2. Duchess

Managing three kittens with elegance while also finding your way back home, we salute you, Duchess!

3. Queen Elinor

With a lot of Disney princesses growing up without a mother, Elinor stands out for coping so well with being a queen and a mother, oh, and a bear at times.

4. Perdita

101 Dalmatians was one of my favourite Disney films as a child, and Perdy and Pongo make such a fab parenting team.

5. Elastigirl/Mrs Incredible

Lets just say its a good job she’s elastic, cos she holds together a pretty super family!

But my favourite Disney mum of all time? Mine. (I’m cute right?)

Friday Favourite Five – WDW Quick Service Restaurants

I’m getting super excited about my upcoming Disney World trip, and when I’m excited my planning goes into overdrive! Because we’re on the Quick Service Dining Plan, I’m pretty excited to try out a lot more of the QS restaurants on this trip, but for now, here are my favourite five from the last trip:

1. Pizza Planet Arcade

SONY DSC

My absolutely favourite restaurant in Hollywood Studios, Pizza Planet is like walking into Andy’s favourite place to eat: pizza, arcade games, and plenty of Little Green Men!

2. Be Our Guest (lunch)

SONY DSC

Be Our Guest is quick service for lunchtime only, and even then getting in can be pretty competitive, but we managed it! If the perfect setting isn’t enough, the food was amazing!

3. Sunshine Seasons

SONY DSC

Sunshine Seasons is inside The Land at Epcot, and boasts a pretty amazing range of international cuisine. My Mongolian Beef, fried rice and whoopie pie might have been the best QS meal I had last year!

4. Pinocchio Village Haus

SONY DSC

We loved Pinocchio’s so much we ate there twice! As well as great food, there’s loads of seating both indoors and out, and if you sit by the big window you can watch the boats on It’s a Small World!

5. Boardwalk Bakery

SONY DSC

The Boardwalk is possibly the most beautiful and underrated place in Disney World, and the Bakery is full of yummy goodies, from incredible cupcakes to handmade deli sandwiches, and if you ever need to order a celebration cake, this is the place to go!

Where are your favourite places to eat in WDW?

Friday Favourite Five – Everyday Bloggers

New series, yay! Each Friday I’ll be sharing five of my favourite ‘insert weekly theme here’, and this week I’m starting off with what I call my ‘everyday bloggers’.

Now I try to keep up with a lot of different blogs, but when I say everyday, these are the blogs that I check without fail every time I hit the internet, to see what’s new, and I think you should too! It also just so happens that these are all really sweet girls with slight Disney obsessions..

1. Cocktails In Teacups

Amy’s blog is the perfect combination of lifestyle posts, from fashion and beauty to home and outdoors, and a lot of Disney! She’s also an inspirational single mother to a totally adorable little girl, and I always love reading about their adventures!

2. Underland to Wonderland

A more recent favourite, I admire Natalie as a blogger so much! She’s totally dedicated, an amazing photographer and such a lovely person!

3. Blog of Shadows

Kayleigh was the first blogger I ‘met’ when I started LottieDoesDisney, and Blog of Shadows was the first blog I read and checked regularly. She’s a super talented make-up artist and while her blog focuses around this, she also shares a lot from her Disney World trips!

4. Briar Rose Blog

Another newer favourite, Briar Rose is quite possibly the prettiest blog ever! From dreamy fashion posts to cosplay and shopping hauls to die for, as well as a lot of real life, and all beautifully written, I definitely recommend it!

5. Paintpotted

Paintpotted was another early favourite of mine, after discovering Amy on Instagram. As well as beauty and lifestyle, Disney is high on the agenda, and if you read nothing else, check out her amazing Disney World proposal story – its perfect!
