Long Distance to Close Quarters

They say time flies when you’re having fun. Well I’m here to tell you that it frickin’ rockets when you’re in love.

Two years ago today I wrote a super personal post, telling the internet about this guy that I had been on two dates with that was flying out to New Zealand for at least 4 months, and that we had taken a fairly big leap of faith in committing to try and make it work. That was the day that I became Matthew’s girlfriend.

Two years later, we have been living together for almost a year, and in only a week’s time we’ll officially be moving in to our own home after a couple of stressful months.

I’m in no way the perfect girlfriend. I can be stubborn, I get hangry and I steal the covers sometimes, but I want to be better because I’ve never been happier. I’ve found the person who shares in my excitement of going to Home Bargains, who reminds me at 9 o’clock every evening that Love Island is on if I’ve been distracted by something, and patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) takes 400 photos of the same outfit until I’m totally happy with them.

We didn’t get to where we are today on the same normal path that most relationships take, but I wouldn’t change it for the world, and our adventure is still only just beginning. I don’t believe that anything in life is easy, but it’s a whole lot easier when you’ve got the right person standing there with you, no matter what.

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Love Scenes

I doubt anyone needs remind what day it is on Sunday, do they?

For me, Valentines Day is a total nothing of a day, and no, its not because I’m single. I genuinely have no feelings towards the day, positive or negative, whether I’m single or not; it all just seems pointless to me..

What I do love, however, is a good Disney love scene, so here are my faves!

1. Tangled Boat

2. Lady and the Tramp Spaghetti and Meatballs

3. A Magic Carpet Ride

4. Ella and Kit’s First Dance

5. Once Upon A Dream

What’s your favourite?

The Love/Hate Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Sam over at The Belle Jar to do this tagged, originally inspired by another lovely lady, Danielle from Underland to Wonderland!

Aim of the game is simple – I have to name 10 things I love, and 10 things I hate, just a fun way for you to get to know a little big more about me! Lets do this..

Love:

1. Being part of such a great community of bloggers and Disney lovers

2. The feeling of finishing a really great run or workout

3. Christmas, especially giving presents!

4. Finishing a crossword, sad but true!

5. Planning and organising

6. Getting post!

7. Long hot showers – I don’t like baths

8. Meeting targets and goals

9. Clean sheet night!

10. Egg fried rice – I could just eat that forever!

Hate:

1. Cyclists on the pavement – if you want road users to respect you, you have to follow road laws yourself!

2. Foods that mix savoury and sweet concepts – savoury pancakes, cheesecake etc

3. When great things happen for people who don’t deserve it, or don’t even care

4. People who think they’re too good for others

5. Constant negativity and judgement

6. Tomatoes – I love everything tomato based, but actual tomatoes are weird

7. Being unable to sleep

8. Losing or wasting money

9. Bad drivers – not indicating, being in the wrong lane, cutting people off, using phones etc..

10. Rude customers – staff are only ever there to help, so treat them decently!

I tag Amy, Lizi, Shawnee, Kimberley and Sophie, and if anyone else wants to give it a go, drop me links!

Friday Favourite Five – Disney Couples

The best kind of couples are Disney couples. They’re the couples that us mere humans strive to base our relationships on, just without the grand castles or evil villains!

And with basically every Disney film featuring a fabulous pairing, choosing my favourites was really hard, but here goes nothing!

1. Rapunzel and Flynn

I know, its no surprise that I’ve got these two on my list, you all know how much I love this film! Those relationship goals are real guys.

2. Eve and WALL-E

This film is totally underrated, but how can you not see these guys are adorable? I mean, he travelled through space for her!

3. Ellie and Carl

A lifetime of true love in a short film opening, and gets us right in the feels!

4. Meg and Hercules

As a girl of sarcasm, Meg is fabulous in my eyes, and who can say that diving into a pool of dead souls to save the girl you love isn’t a big enough gesture?

And, without a doubt, the best Disney couple ever..

5. Mickey and Minnie

I don’t think I need to caption this. These guys = the best.

Do you have a favourite Disney couple?
